President Bush and Torture

And yet, smart enough to be the most powerful man in the world. Smarter than Gore. And Kerry. And anybody else who challenged him.

You don't need to be clever to win a popularity contest.

No. But you do need to be clever to keep your policies going strong with an opposing party in Congress, said party put there to change things.

Is the collective intelligence of the Democratic party less than that of Bush and his cronies? Evidence suggests this is a distinct possibility.

He never was smart. His cronies lifted him into the saddle. His cronies supported him to sit. And that's what he is: A president on stilts, unable to walk alone much less to talk alone.

:S

SO his cronies are geniuses? Okay. Bush's ADMINISTRATION, who cause all this, are geniuses.

I think we may be too dumb to understand what his cronies are trying to do. Hillary Clinton knows, but she's too stupid to have stopped it - and voted along with them. (The smartest woman on earth - married to the smartest MAN on earth - and she was outwitted. Damn.)

But calling the guy an idiot, who has thus far kicked the ass of the opposing party, must mean that those are the left are truly dolts.

No it means there are more people he has fooled more of the time.. you know...Fool me once.. shame on you.. fool me twice shame on me...but he has a better take it on it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ux3DKxxFoM

He did not fool me either time.. but there are plenty of rubes in the red states that took his bullshit.. or should I say Karl Roves bullshit hook line and sinker.. .. Welcome to the new Amerika...Neo-Conned into the New Millenium.

Would I be right in assuming you're therefore proud of Dubya? A monkey? A fucking idiot of the highest order?

And yet, smart enough to be the most powerful man in the world. Smarter than Gore. And Kerry. And anybody else who challenged him.

Doesn't anyone on the left realize how juvenile they sound? Got issues with his policies? I do. Bush is a failed president.

Can you say Karl Rove and a whole lot of cash? He is a fucking idiot. On a string.;)

I feel it, when I sorrow most;

You are in an extremely small minority of peole that condone torture.

Congratulations?

In this country you are allowed to be wrong.

By the way, Congratulations on completely mis-representing my position. Hell of a jump based on the "specific" topic here and my reply.

Twist all you want. I am proud of his stance

You're proud of a man who wants to use cruel, unusual and counterproductive interrogation methods?

Why, for fucks sake? Do you want the US to have bad intel?

The specifics here are related to waterboarding. You need to put this under a broder context of torture to support your position. This is all Bush is going to address.

I think you will find it is more than that.....

But in so many cases here.. ignorance is bliss.

So? Waterboarding is a cruel, unusual and inneffective interrogation technique. The study which I've linked to in this thread, commissioned by the intelligence agencies, shows waterboarding to be no more effective than conventional torture. That is, completely inneffective and often counterproductive.

So, why would you be proud of Bush wanting us to keep using it?
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Do you? All he has to do (with the aid of veto) is maintain the status quo - and he has massive, massive momentum behind him. Changing the situation is going to be far harder for the dems than keeping it going will be for Bush.

What evidence? I don't think the ability to win elections and implement policies is at all indicative of IQ. Whether the policies work as designed, maybe.

The mans a fool. That's fact. It speaks a lot for his opponents, the electorate, and your voting process. It's astounding in actual fact.

Besides, disliking Bush doesn't mean you vote towards the left...

edit: It'll be interesting in a morbid sense to listen to the candidates move mountains to unearth crap on each other now. And that does stink.

Good to see we agree on a couple of things...more importantly, I don't have to waste my timing backing up a fact. You denying this fact and demanding evidence is hilarious. You make me laugh sometimes. Thanks.:)

Well, Rush, that's a job Georgieboy is dealing with on a daily basis. Listen to him, look at him ... :D:D

And this is only a sketchy view.

:P

Got elected twice, has a higher rating than the now Dem congress, has gotten almost all of what he wanted from Congress and has made the side you seem to support look inept for nearly 8 years:o

Yep, a "sketchy" view as you like to put it:D

It is easy to understand why you are pissed, he makes his opponets look more stupid than your view of him!:D:D:D:D:D

No it just points out the amount of stupid people in the country who voted for him..

Many of them are now realizing their mistake.. and are kicking themselves for doing it.. BUT there are plenty of dead endeders out there left over even still just like the dead enders in Iraq who still love Saddam:S:S:S

You said you are "proud" of his position. His position with regards to the topic at hand is to allow torture. Therefore, yes, you condone torture.

Well, that's a surprise - NOT.

If he took a dump on the steps of the Capitol you'd find something praiseworthy to say about that, too.
