Andrewwhyte 1 #2 March 7, 2008 This is clearly the result of socialized death. Had death remained entirely in the private sector it would not be rationed like this.

lawrocket 3 #4 March 7, 2008 Quotethe mayor of the southwestern village of Sarpourenx wrote in a decree that warned of "severe punishment" for offenders. This is what gets me about government. Laws, etc. Severe punishment? Apparently laws can do anything now. And when people keep dying despite the law, I wonder if there will be additional laws because this law isn't working. My wife is hotter than your wife.
beowulf 1 #5 March 7, 2008 Did you read the entire aricle? This law is a protest by the Mayor becuase he wasn't allowed to expand the cemetary. The "severe punishment" consisted of "The first dead person to come along, I'll send him to the state's representative," From what I read the Mayor wasn't taking the law seriously. He is just wanting to expand the cemetary.
FreeflyChile 0 #6 March 7, 2008 This whole thing reminds me of the old Bill Hicks routine about pro-lifers getting serious and instead of blocking abortion clinics, blocking cemeteries.
lawrocket 3 #7 March 7, 2008 Yes, I read it. So the law is "symbolism over substance." That should make anyone feel better, right? Hey, something ain't going right, just pass a law or issue an edict. That'll show 'em. It makes you wonder what is the point of other laws, edicts, etc. Which ones are NOT the result of caprice? My wife is hotter than your wife. beowulf 1 #11 March 7, 2008 It looks to me like the Mayor was frustrated because he couldn't expand the cemetary and was trying to make a point to the state. What do you think he should have done?

happythoughts 0 #18 March 8, 2008 "Co-location". That is the key. You actually triple the occupancy. Problem solved. Six feet down is just a guideline. Go down 4 ft. Drop them in and bury them. A week later. Go 2 ft down, lay some sod. Plus, the departed feel more appreciated when they have 3 times the visitors. I am totally a solutions guy.
