re: the polling numbers you posted.

You and I can agree that the polls in this primary season have been...um...messed up?

exit polls are a lot better than pre election polls, though I presume they don't cover absentee voters. With the polling prior to the election, the pollster makes guesses at the likelihood of each demographic actually going to vote. With the exit polls, you know they did.

2. The population in general is pissed off with the GOP.( seems to me that was the case in 04 as well)

In 2004 the war was still favored by a majority (only 18 months old) and Bush still got a lot of positive sentiment for handling a crisis. In general, any sort of crisis/war/violent event gives the President a boost, which is why the GOP went apeshit in the late 90s when Clinton bombed Iraq.

4. The likelihood of a dramatic turn around in the economy by November is remote. ( Ive heard lots on wall street say otherwise even predictions of a dow at 14,500 to 15k and for all us working class peps i hope so.)

Could be, but recall that stock markets are typically a leading indicator. So investors may be happier by then, but those who aren't feeling secure about their paycheck may well still be suffering, esp with oil staying high. Any commuting workers are suffering from high effective inflation this summer.

Normally I'd say Clinton is a much weaker candidate than Kerry, but if voters assign all of their discontent from Bush to McCain, he is also a much weaker candidate.

PS the ONLY party I ever joined (Life Member) is The Conservative Party. The stupid things one does when one is young!

So, how many years ago did you send back the membership card?

Things to consider:

1. Slightly over 50% of the voting age population is female. (last pole i heard of 54% wouldnt even consider voting for her, and her numbers with women voters against obama reflect that some)

CNN Exit Polls By Male/Female Vote - RI, TX, OH
Rhode Island -

Male (43%) - 56% Obama, 43% Clinton
Female (57%) - 58% Clinton, 41% Obama

Ohio -

Male (41%) - 52% Obama, 47% Clinton
Female (59%) - 54% Clinton, 45% Obama

Texas -

Male (43%) - 52% Obama, 46% Clinton
Female (57%) - 53% Clinton, 46% Obama

2. The population in general is pissed off with the GOP.( seems to me that was the case in 04 as well)

3. The party holding the White House is always punished in elections when the economy is bad.

4. The likelihood of a dramatic turn around in the economy by November is remote.

( Ive heard lots on wall street say otherwise even predictions of a dow at 14,500 to 15k and for all us working class peps i hope so.)

How much would you like to bet?

on super tuesday the big talking heads were just amazed at the exit polling showing obama winning so much of the women vote over hillary. against McCain that might change, but the male vote will probably spread even more.

On the DOW making it to 14.5 or 15k by the election.

thought u were talking about the vote, as for the bet on the dow, well none, those same people were predicting 14k for end of 07 and i thought they were the extreme. this year will probably just close at the same range it started.

I write it off to the fact that she will be doing the job with the BIG head all of the time..

George W. Bush is already doing his job with his BIG head all of the time.

Oh and had to add that the little head also controls the sabre rattling and arrogance that has kept us at war almost continuously since patriarchal forms of government came into being about 5000 years ago.

It doesn't really matter. Amazons :P weren't the greatest peacekeepers either.
