Actually, it's talking about how the events in the two Bibles actually did happen. Much mythology is based on actual events like comets, eclipses, floods, and other natural phenomena. When primitives can't explain these, they declare them miracles and acts of gods. But to me, it's much nicer to believe that these unusual events were misinterpreted rather than to believe the 'prophets' were asshole liars, like Joseph Smith and his tablets of gold that only he could see and translate.
