I happened to catch the jury findings and subsequent speeches by the victim's family members.

Yes, I'm that girl who can't seem to watch that without uncontrollably tearing up. (I.e. I can keep a straight face, but have never figured out how to keep my eyes from watering up. )

That whole deal unfolded right in my backyard this summer. I even worked with a girl who knew Bobby.

I'm glad he didn't get the DP. I want to see him rot in prison for what he did. A black ex-cop who killed a pregnant white woman...talk about having no friends in the house.

But, in the end they were both stupid people. SHe already had one kid with this loser and was going to have another? It's sad that she died, but she was making some questionable decisions too. Nobody's ever reported on that angle. You just can't talk about that stuff here in the States anymore.

One has to go no farther than the innundation of reporting on the non-newsworthy-behavior of Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan to find counter-examples of visual and print deluge on young women making questionable decisions.
