Gawain 0 #2 February 17, 2008 Yeah, it's right up there with Miss South Carolina's response to South Africa and maps... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! KelliJ 0 #3 February 17, 2008 I was watching "5th grader' one evening and was shocked that the contestant had much trouble naming the two states that do not border another state. I don't expect everyone to be able to solve differential equations without so much as a pencil and paper, but basic geography isn't too much to ask. Or is it? kbordson 8 #20 February 18, 2008 ok.... confession time. When I first read this thread, I read it as "Mormons are taking over the world" and I had to think REALLY hard to try to see how that link had ANYTHING to do with Utah or John Smith or ...... then I looked at the title again and it hit me. But hey, at least I'm taking over the world!
vortexring 0 #21 February 18, 2008 That's a bit mean. I am aware of some US citizens being asked to place a pin on Iraq for a TV show, and generally putting the pin onto countries like Australia and Argentina but hey ho. You chose to live there! I had to learn all those different countries as well as their capitals and all that. Then, the 'Cold War' ended, the Berlin wall was smashed, all those countries I learned changed their names back to their original names and now, it's just a big mess to me.
