A Voter Class Few are Talking About

Recommended Posts

I used to be able to vote for Republicans once upon a time... and have.. But I have not seen a moderate republican I could vote for in years.. I am not sure where they are hiding but they sure as hell do not run for office in the NEO-rePUBICan party. Any more the only ones you see are fully vetted by the far right and they truely believe that they are moderates... not in the real world... they are religious fascists for the most part .

I do not vote for Extremeists of ANY ilk... I dont care who they are... I am sort of Independant that way.

Jeanne,

Would you do me a favor and define what you consider to be a religious extremist? I'm starting to believe that it is anyone who practices their religious beliefs (particularly christian); and I don't want to believe that about you.

...and how did that work out? It seems their collective judgment needs work.

Chris,
You know I went to Parochial Schools and got a very good education and a good foundation to base my dislike of CHURCHES upon.

I see far too many "preachers" fleecing the flock.. like our Lutheran pastor.. driving a caddy.. new every year living in a huge house... and I dare say.. paying lip service to his duties as our congregational minister.
I also went to catholic schools .. and saw first hand how "loving" some of the priests were to the children in their care.. and the nuns did absolutely nothing about that.

I truely believe in a separation of church and state... remember the passage... render unto ceasar what is ceasars.
I do not like the idea of preachers or priests.. or mullahs dictating government policy.. it has ALWAYS been a bad idea.

I believe deeply in christ and I know that god gave people free will to do as they would. If someone chooses to go against that it is not my holy duty to ensure that everyone else conforms to my beliefs.

Then I say religious extremeists.. I mean all the churches and preachers and all the others that seek to control others in the name of THEIR belief system( we all know that every denomination believes anyone who does not worship their way is going straight to hell)

If you want to control what I do with my body.. I think you can go straight to hell

If you want to control what I do in my bedroom.. you can also go straight to hell.

All those who do so need to have a very serious talk with their flavor of god in his book and see that he talked against such actions over and over.

I just want the people of this country to live up to the book they supposedly believe in.. and the Constitution supporting religious freedom and the right to worship or not worship as the person chooses. ANYONE who does not follow those documents needs to just go to fucking hell. Live your life as you see fit.. but you do NOT have the right to control anyone elses.. PERIOD.

Take a look at BUSH's disapproval ratings. I think the vast majority agree with me.

PS a "dam" is a structure built to retain water. You keep making the SAME error, over and over and over and over...

Actually 30% agree with you, 66% agree with Kallend. It is a dam shame you can't see that.

So, gives him free reign to throw the insults?

And you speak of ONE specific topic and before I (and I would hope you too) acept any polling number I want to see the question.

Boils down to attitude. It boils down to respect, It boils down to decency.

The "dam shame" comment was a direct resonce to the insult >:(

>And you speak of ONE specific topic and before I (and I would hope you
>too) acept any polling number I want to see the question.

Quite simple. "Do you approve, disapprove or have mixed feelings about the way George W. Bush is handling his job as president?" 30% agreed with you and approve of the job he's doing. 66% agree with Kallend, and disapprove.

>It boils down to respect, It boils down to decency.

Indeed it does.

Dam right it does And so it would seem that since you agree with kallend and the 60%, Insults are aceptable. That only the 60% have an opinion that counts

Everyone's opinion counts. I was merely pointing out that the vast majority of people do not share your view of Bush.

And even less agree with Congress. So, where does that leave us?

The truth really does hurt you guys doesnt it..

So much so you stick your head in the sand so you cant see it... and cover your ears and go NANANANANANANANANANANANANANA so you cant hear it....

But your policies still stink to high heaven.. and I doubt the sand filters out all that much of it.

Edited to add.. why is it when I am posting to some people here my spelling and typing go right out the window.... guess I do it for the core of common knowledege they taught us when evaluating your audience:S

Not really. Most people have made their decisions about it after five years of the constant refrains of "we're turning the corner! The insurgency is in its last throes! We just killed the leader of Al Qaeda and it will collapse any minute! Everything is GREAT!"

And again poll numbers reflect that.

"Do you favor or oppose the U.S. war in Iraq?" 64% oppose

"How would you say things are going for the U.S. in its efforts to bring stability and order to Iraq?" 59% going badly or very badly

"Do you think the United States made a mistake in sending troops to Iraq, or not?" 57% mistake

Nice talking points. What do you expect with the medias spewing this same crap daily?

And why are they not spewing the same crap today? Why is Iraq not in the news the same today as a year ago?

surprising

I'd like to see a poll asking people who voted for Bush on the "lesser of two evils" premise if they'd vote for him again if Kerry was the choice. I bet it'd have a high percentage of "yes" responses.
