rushmc 23 #51 February 14, 2008 QuoteQuote You can buy as many as you have money for, but to sell them as a business requires a FFL. I'm pretty sure I can only buy one handgun at a time. The only exception - become an FFL. I'm interested to see you debate that fact. I'm vaguely interested to see when and if this thread will have a topic to discuss or not. So far all we got is you arguing about our attempts to guess at the point. It must be a state or city requirement. In Iowa you can go to the sheriffs office and submit a permit to purchase. You do not need the permit to purchase but with it you do not have a waiting period. You can buy as many as you want either way"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." nerdgirl 0 #52 February 14, 2008 Randy – have you tried to call or email the guy to ask him about it? (Not confrontationally ... to elicit information). Most folks who are advocate for a cause (of any political persuasion) will talk to you about their cause. My speculation is that the explanation is some combination of what has been proposed thus far by [DSE] & [1969912] or something more oriented toward a sensationalist-media-type angle, which for good or bad (mostly the latter, im-ever-ho) is effective across the political spectrum, i.e., some sort of sting. It sells. VR/Marg Act as if everything you do matters, while laughing at yourself for thinking anything you do matters. Tibetan Buddhist saying
kelpdiver 2 #53 February 14, 2008 Quote Your state may have restrictions that differ from federal law, but those restrictions have nothing to do with BATF firearms regulations or FFL licensees. Well, no shit, my state may have differing restrictions. Last I heard, we all live in states, not a magical land that is only under the jurisdiction of the BATF. In mine, you are greatly restricted if you're not an FFL - one handgun per 30 days, 10 day wait, no private transfers. DC (the address on tthe scanned image) is worse. (shaking head in amazement)

I wonder if he would fess up that it was done with intention to evade or mock the legal restrictions imposed for purposes of obtaining an FFL. I think I will write him as I cannot call and maintain a false lisp, and express a disgust for firearms very long

After you calm down and your head stops shaking, take a look at the regulations. Here are a couple links that may prove helpful: http://www.ag.ca.gov/firearms/ http://www.atf.treas.gov/firearms/index.htm "Once we got to the point where twenty/something's needed a place on the corner that changed the oil in their cars we were doomed . . ." -NickDG
