Nearly a quarter of Britons think that Churchill is a myth. Meanwhile, more than half believe that Sherlock Holmes was real.

Considering they surveyed people who watched UKTV Gold (a re-runs channel) I'm surprised! Surely at least half the audience would have been old enough to have actually voted for Churchill??

Ever seen "Jaywalking?" Jay Leno will walk around LA and ask people simple questions.

One was "what is the name of the earth's only natural satellite?" He would do this and then pointedly turn and stare at the moon. People would answer "the space station" "the space shuttle" "Mars" "that asteriod, the big one" etc etc.

Another one asked people to identify a picture of Thomas Jefferson, Shakespeare, Ben Franklin etc.

Yes. A CBC Broadcaster did a "Talking to Americans" segment routinely.

He'd ask silly questions to Americans - some high level. He fooled Huckabee when getting him to congratulate the Canadian government for putting a dome on its National Igloo.

He'd ask about signign Petitions to cease euthanasia of elderly in Canada by placing them on ice floes.

I think my favorite was one about banning the hunting of penguins in Canada - either that one or the one about the Saskatchewan navy.
