'The worst US president'

Maybe instead of continually patting ourselves on the back at what a wonderful system of government we have, we should worry about fixing it so that we don't just get to choose between one loser and another.

How do you fix such a thing? Make all presidential candidates take the Wonderlic? Personality test?

Here's a start for how I'd fix the system.

I'd repeal the part of the 17th Amendment and let the Senators be chosen by the state Legislatures, instead of by popular vote.

Then the Senators won't campaign directly to the people, thus meaning that they won't be as likely to need campaign warchests and they won't be making the same promises about money.

Well.. if he's not the worst president ever he certainly fucking looks the part to the outside world. He certainly comes across as the dumbest. How the hell you guys voted him in not once but twice is absolutely mind numbing.

Have to bear in mind the choices the voters were given. Pretty much a coin flip, and the vote results were also pretty close to 50/50.

The first time he was voted in there was a choice. It should have been a no brainer, but then Florida happened. The fact that it was close enough to let Florida decide in the first place was the biggest blunder in history for the voters in the United States. Then not only was he in place to make himself look stupid, he managed to make the entire country's electoral process look stupid for the mistakes made in Florida.

Al Gore had the balls to make change to this world, but as we all know, people are afraid of change. They resent the people who tell them that change is necessary and cannibalize them. ie. the USPA.

Al Gore in 2000 (not the reworked image, ala Jerry Moonbeam Brown) was not an exciting choice. By the end of the year, he was a 3 time loser for President. And many people were disappointed with him being tapped for Veep in 1992.

How great a choice can you be if you're rejected, despite having the incumbency advantage and an economy that was still chugging along nicely?
