'The worst US president'

Recommended Posts

> I would vote him the most hated President in history . . .

"The most hated president" is almost always the current president. The second most hated president is almost always the one before that. Just how people work.

I mean, Nixon was objectively much more of a criminal than Clinton. But he was so long ago, and now he's dead. Who can really hate him? But you can bet that after he resigned, people hated him a _lot._

Well, personality aside (Slimy, self serving, lieing bastard)....

He got us into 2 unjustifiable, expensive, not-our-problem wars, which have diverted our very limited funds/resources from our real problems (Crime, National Health, Education, Social Services etc...)

He's the furthest Right 'so called socialist' ever.

He's completely out of touch with the people he is supposed to be serving (us Not the US).

His politician mates voted them selves over inflation pay rises whilst expecting the real workers in our country to take below inflation ones.

a lot of people say this about bush too...but then i always chuckle when they say we should leave iraq and go to africa, to help the poor people there being killed by others....if you follow their logic, iraq isn't our problem, and we should leave, then why should we go into africa and help them??? Some of the big boys in the world need to be police, or the bullies in the world will go unchecked.

Well, say this about Truman: any guy who, in middle-age, breaks the slats of a bed - in the White House, no less - from the force of boning the be-jeezus out of his own wife is all right by me.

well what are YOU saying then? should we be Worl d Police or not??

I don't see that the same people who are saying we should leave Iraq are saying we should then send troops into Africa. I have this crazy idea that the Defense Department should be used to defend.....The United States!! :o

Those people who think we should be running around the world trying to get into as many wars as possible should enlist or pay twice as much taxes. If you want to indulge some Take Over the World fantasy, do it on your own dime.

'The worst US president'

William Henry Harrison?

Harrison barely lived for thirty days as President before dying of pneumonia. Hardly a fair way to evaluate anything he might have done, other than being the first President to kick the bucket.

Good point. Lincoln himself was extremely unpopular, even hated, during his tenure. Small wonder with over 600,000 dead in our nation's bloodiest war.

Exactly. The little bastard gets elected and then shirks his official responsibilities. What a lazyass.:P

Sounds quite a lot like a "vast, right-wing conspiracy", doesn't it?

YOU elected the "vast right wing conspiracy" and look at how they have performed.

Every time they fuck something up.... they and YOU try to blame it on someone else.... Well done Mike:S:S:S:S

We shouldn't. If we want to help them, we should give money/food to people who can. If not, then we don't. The worst possible decision would be to invade and set up our own government hoping that it will magically solve the region's problems.

>Some of the big boys in the world need to be police, or the bullies in
>the world will go unchecked.

And when the police turn into the bullies? Who polices them? Or do you believe that the police can never, ever be bullies by definition?

" Who can we blame for this fiasco"

It is not permissible to use that phrase on the target audience unless you have good hair and a cute smile. Otherwise, logic and reason become obstacles.

The phrase works so well that it was successfully applied on occasions that we don't have the bandwidth to list.

Besides, there is no vast left-wing conspiracy. Ask any of them. ;)

I've been using that phrase over at the local Dem headquarters to pick up chicks.
"The right wing conspiracy commands you to give me a bj."
It's amazing. The brainless tarts just line up.

Now that's cool. You'd have to go to a public bathroom to get that kind of service in GOP territory!

Can you blame it on a conspiracy if you get caught?
...again and again and again? Those darned conspiracies never give up.

It's probably better if it is just random strangers instead of worrying about those stupid sexual harassment laws. (Granted, those only apply to conservative court nominees, not liberals.)

The hush money that is paid to quell lawsuits must be huge.

{Blatantly stolen …}
“As passionate as I am about personal freedom [& *liberal* privacy & civil rights – nerdgirl], I don't buy the claims of anarchists [or radical libertarians – nerdgirl] that humanity would be just fine without any government at all. There are too many people in the world who believe that they know best how people should live their lives, and many of them are more than willing to use force to impose those beliefs on others. A world without government simply wouldn't last very long; as soon as it was established, strongmen would immediately spring up to establish their fiefdoms. So there is a need for government to protect the people's rights. And one of the fundamental tools to do that is an army that can prevent outside agencies from imposing their rules on a society. A lot of people will protest that argument by noting that the people we are fighting in Iraq are unlikely to threaten the rights of the average American. That's certainly true; while our enemies would certainly like to wreak great levels of havoc on our society, the fact is they're not likely to succeed. But that doesn't mean there isn't still a need for an army. Americans are fortunate that we don't have to worry too much about people coming to try and overthrow us, but part of the reason we don't have to worry about that is because we have an army that is stopping anyone who would try.”

Andrew Olmsted, RIP

I think I love you. Will you marry me? :).

Well, OK, maybe I don't want to marry a woman. But I do want to buy you a beer if we ever end up in the same place.

How do ya figure? Here in USA most of us don't hear the details of foreign politics, but it seems to me that he did a decent job -- look at the strength of your economy right now, for example.

Tony Blair was an asshole. Gordon Brown is also an asshole, and an unelected one at that.
