ianmdrennan 2 #1 January 28, 2008 I generally don't post (or read here) but given the sensitive nature of this recommendation it's appropriate. For those of you who haven't seen this, I highly recommend it: Deliver Us From Evil It's a documentary about Father Olliver O'Grady (featuring a LOT of interview footage with him both during the case, and for the documentary). Discuss, and enjoy. Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team

masterrig 1 #3 January 28, 2008 Does the movie tell of how the Catholic Church 'hides-out' priests who have abused children or sired children or how the Church moves them from one parrish to another and all the 'pay-offs' and child support the church pays? ianmdrennan 2 #4 January 29, 2008 It deals a lot of with the latter. How the church moves the abusers around, well aware of their behavior. The dispositions (spelling?) of the Diocese members are shocking to say the least. It's quite something to watch the recounting of the events, by Father O'Grady, and the casualness with which he speaks of them. It's a scary peek into a fractured psyche. I think, by far, the most shocking thing to me was the cover up by the church. Oddly enough not because of protecting the church, but rather by those in the church protecting their careers and promotions. You're right, it is insane how disassociated he is with what he's done. The nerve of him to "INVITE" those he has abused to visit him! WTF??!!?? I'd kill the mofo! Let's face it...ALL organized religion, once they acquire anyamount of power, is EVIL!! Is that not what religion started out to be...a way for a community to find self-worth and prove they are better than their neighbors! Religions have too much to gain (and lose) in the material world to have any objectivity with regard to human interaction. It's in their own best interest to keep their dirty laundry secret from the masses.Kevin - Sonic Beef #5 - OrFun #28 "I never take myself too seriously, 'cuz everybody know fat birds don't fly." - FLC Online communities: proof that people never mature much past high school.
