QuoteVoting for president along racial and gender lines "is understandable because people are proud when someone who they identify with emerges for the first time," the former president told a Charleston audience while campaigning for his wife. It will probably be welcome news to black leaders nationwide that some of their race has finally emerged. With the comedy writers strike on, I wonder who writes his material. Quote"I never heard a word of public complaint when Mr. Obama said Hillary was not truthful, no character, was poll-driven. He had more pollsters than she did," Bill Clinton said in a heated exchange with a CNN reporter. Isn't that just the quote of the day. Someone questions the character or truthfulness of Hillary and no one argues the point. Does BC really want to remind everyone of that ? QuoteLast year, Obama's campaign circulated a memo describing Hillary Clinton as "D-Punjab," a reference to her Indian-American donors. Obama has said that was a mistake. There are so many interesting facts about this item. First, Hillary co-founded the Indian Caucus in the Senate. Next, it was Hillary who said it at a fundraiser hosted by Dr Rajwant Singh. (He raised nearly $50,000 for her re-election campaign). Singh introduced her as "the Senator not only from New York but also Punjab." Hillary joked, "I can certainly run for the Senate seat in Punjab and win easily". So, when you talk about who you represent... What made it an interesting comment, as Obama sub-leases his Chicago political headquarters from Accenture (one of the largest outsourcing companies). I wonder what the rent is ? (It is not just a Dem thing. Silicon Valley expects a return on their fundraising dollars, regardless of party affiliation.) One of the interesting things about the campaign reminds me of the part in a novel about a murder in a Japanese corporate building. Rising Sun The main character refers to a tactic where the facts cannot be argued, so the return attacks become personal. He tells his (black) partner that he will be accused of racism for criticizing the Japanese. The OJ trial accuses a detective of racism as the only reason for his arrest. An easy way to re-direct the focus from the facts. Instead of addressing the issues about Hillary, critics are categorized as misogynists. So, now, according to BC, Obama is a racist. I don't get it. Only 13% of the population is black. 50% of the population are women. If you subtract the half of the blacks which are women, assuming they'll vote for their race over their gender, that still leaves Clinton with 43%. So this racial/gender divide comes out as 13% for Barack, and 43% for Hillary. This would seem to give Hillary a whopping advantage. And yet Bill Clinton thinks that this division of votes will cause Barack to win? I don't get it...
Andrewwhyte 1 #3 January 24, 2008 It does seem a strange thing to say. I do think though that more than 13% of dems are black, and an even higher percentage will be dem primary voters.

Just because BC says it, it doesn't mean he believes it. He is trying to get the female supports of HC into action. Perhaps there are a few who are "too busy" to get out and vote. This is just the extra push. Of the women polled, "Would you sleep with BC?", 71% said, "Never again".
