My source is the actual info from the contracting office...not some op-ed.

Try again, Bubbette.

Hmmm perhaps your contracting office is cherry picking information.. Your Administration has been VERY GOOD at that...:S:S:S:S

How about we shoot for BUSH CORRUPTION

Results 1 - 10 of about{red] 402,000 for Bush corruption. (0.12 seconds)

my my my that is one hell of a lot of hits...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/19/AR2005091901859.html

The Bush administration's top federal procurement official resigned Friday and was arrested yesterday, accused of lying and obstructing a criminal investigation into Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff's dealings with the federal government. It was the first criminal complaint filed against a government official in the ongoing corruption probe related to Abramoff's activities in Washington.

http://www.earthside.com/earthside/2007/04/deep_bush_corru.html

For six years, Bush had a Republican Congress whipped into obedience - and it provided him his only experience in legislative affairs. The rise of the Democratic Congress, reviving the powers of oversight and investigation, is a shock to his system. But he is not without an understanding of his changed circumstances. Bush sees the new Congress as the same beast that ensnared his father in fatal compromise and as a monstrous threat to the imperial presidency he has spent six years carefully building.

As the return of oversight suddenly exposes pervasive corruption throughout the executive branch, Bush struggles against Congress as though it were an alien force. Bush has no sense that the framers, wary of the concentration of power in the executive, deliberately established the powers of the Congress in Article I of the constitution and those of the president in Article II. Once again he straps on his armour and clasps his shield. His defence of secrecy, executive fiat and one-party rule has become his battle of Thermopylae

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/12/13/bush-league-justice-partisan-corruption-of-the-doj/

Dan Abrams continues his series on how the Bush administration (in particular, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove) has wreaked havoc on the Department of Justice with a look today at how corrupted and nastily partisan prosecutions have become, with the DoJ going after more than five times the number of Democrats as Republicans and using party and Bush loyalty as the overriding criteria for hiring attorneys.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse:

The Bush administration forgot that the sign outside says “United States Department of Justice” not “Bush Administration Department of Justice”. And the cost to us has been as a country and the cost to the department in particular has been terribly high.

Red Koolaid is some interesting shit man...the selective blindness is really amazing.

Try again Bubba

How do you consider it a double standard? Why is education being put on the same level as healthcare anyway? There are public schools that are free as there are free healthcare clinics. EVERYONE is welcomed there. Just depends on whether you're willing to put up with the quality of service. Same as public school and private school.

Yes, I went to a public school. No, I don't have health insurance from an employer because I'm self-employed. No, you won't see me bitching that the government owes it to me to provide healthcare for my children and I.

To put it into the proper perspective you must realize you are debating one who believes more is socialist governments than a repersentitive democracy that is capitalist. Once you realize that his positions are easy to understand, just as leftist but understandable

Just more situational ethics and such from the right wing.... as long as it agrees with them.. its all good.

Accepting public funds for things YOU want while opposing the use of public funds for the things others want IS a double standard. I'm sure some childless taxpayers paid for your schooling. People who don't own cars pay taxes to build highways you drive on. People who never fly contribute some to pay for Air Traffic Control when you skydive. People who never go to national parks pay for their upkeep.

Once you have fed at the trough you can't act all high and mighty when others want to feed too.

Reads like, and is almost as long as, a chapter from Confessions Of An Economic Hit Man. (EHM)

Military warfare is actually the sloppy and expensive way to impose will. Economic warfare is now the preferred method. Has been every since the lesson of Vietnam. We still send in the troops occassionally, but only if we can not bring them to their knees economically.

One of the dirty little secrets of the EHMs is that the supposed free money and the cheap loans we "give" to underdeveloped countries has got so many strings attached that it turns them into puppets. (Hence the euphemism).

Most of that money not only comes with conditions of what it can be used for, but is often very specific on who gets the contracts. Guess who they stipulate. Most of that money never leaves our country folks.

The Dems, Reps, IMF, World Bank, and puppets we prop up are all in on the scam.

Oh yes you can

It is the ultimate expression of hypocrisy.. but those who always bleating on and on about tax cuts are the worst offenders...

CUT ENTITLEMENTS I dont want to pay for "those people" "let those people pull themselves up by their bootstraps.. like I did".. on and on and on...

BUT.. a few hunderd billion more in cost plus contracts to their friends.... GOOOOOD.... WAR IS GOOD.

And how do you know what I WANT? What if I want to put MY kids to private schools and pay for private toll roads so I don't have to sit in traffic? Why am I not ENTITLED to make those choices with MY money? The government has NO right to spend my money for me!

By the way, the highways are funded by the sales tax we pay in fuel. So I AM paying for usage. It wasn't given to me for free. I pay my property tax, yet still pay for my kids to go to private school. So, don't give me some bullshit about feeding at the trough, given I have no CHOICE in paying for my damn taxes.

Just in case, this relates to the dear senator issues back when she first ran for the senate in 2000.

One wonders, why all their close friends and associates end up in jail, dead, or overseas....And no much noise from the media.

It's all a big conspiracy!

>And no much noise from the media.

It's an even BIGGER CONSPIRACY because no one is reporting on it!

The conspiracies you never hear a shred of evidence on - those are the ones that are real. Because they're being covered up, of course. Like that alien invasion back in '92. That one was so big that no one ever heard a _thing_ about it.

Now, lets not forget Chinagate as well, giving the notorious (It's not just a BJ anymore theory) where he stated the following:
Transcript of August 17th, 1998 address to the nation after being "Caught"

Now, if you follow carefully, you will see that even in his "confession" to the nation, he continued to lie as evidenced in Lewinsky's testimony, and Sandy Berger case, of actually destroying evidence per bubba's requests, there is a pattern of lying willingly, and willfully, to avoid any responsibility.

Now, you can go check each name they are on trials, and very well documented through the years, and in court transcripts. Just don't forget also, the items they were asked to return to the white house that they considered "Their personal gifts".....

Seems like a pattern of lying by the x-prez and his cohorts.

And just in case, this is a figment of my imagination:S

I stopped reading the list when I got to Zoe Baird - a failed nomination isn't exactly the same as a conviction.

The 'convicts' list at the end of the Reagan-Bush reign was pretty large too. Seems to get bad by the end of a 2nd term under the same party - they get too comfortable.

I think you may be right...still gonna be hard to pass THAT record, though the Reps seem to be trying, at least in regards to scandals. Dems still seem to have the edge in actual corruption cases, though.

What irks me is the fact of the new scandal on yet another "Clinton" campaign funding illegalities. As we know how prone are they to commit perjury, in order to stay the course.

"Accepting public funds". Who is this great and generous public that is paying for public schools? Oh, you must mean the taxpayers of this country. So, it is somehow bad to send your kids to public schools that you have been forced to pay for?

The federal government takes money by coercion from the taxpayers in the hinterlands, launders it in Washington (with our elected officials taking a huge cut for worthless pork barrel projects, make-work jobs, and lining their own pockets) and then are nice enough to send a little of it back to the communities from which they took it. And, for this, we are supposed to be grateful. I think not. Most of what Washington gets involved in is the responsibility of the individual states...read the Constitution and what it limits the federal government to doing.

You DID accept an education paid for by the taxpayers. YOU have benefitted from public funding. Don't now turn around and criticise those who want it for their needs, unless you want to look like a hypocrite.

So let me get this straight. You are claiming the "mainstream liberal media" is ignoring this story, and you prove it by providing links to the . . . mainstream liberal media?

I think your logic might have a wee hole in it.
