Unfortunately, some of these same people would go through with it, just to prove a point ("told ya so"). We had a "frequent flyer" where I worked. She was inpatient at least every couple of months for "failed" suicide attempts. This lasted for a few years. Then one day, she was "successful". She had borderline personality disorder. Sadly, her family was almost relieved in the same way someone who has been suffering from cancer dies. It is truly sad. Guys are more likely to use guns. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within. It's just the manipulative "cry wolf" types who tend to generate cynicism so by the time someone serious says it no-one is listenning. I hate the manipulators but I don't take a chance if someone says it. I have had so many experiences with this from so many different angles, some professionally and others personally. It's not easy to keep it objective. It's also hard for me to see how problems this deep would have any kind of political underpinnings....unless Republicans really DO beat their wives more often than their Democratic counterparts...lol.
