100 Years of Tax

Recommended Posts

Tax his land,

Tax his wage,

Tax his bed in which he lays.

Tax his tractor,

Tax his mule,

Teach him taxes is the rule.

Tax his cow,

Tax his goat,

Tax his pants,

Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,

Tax his shirts,

Tax his work,

Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,

Tax his drink,

Tax him if he tries to think.

Tax his booze,

Tax his beers,

If he cries,

Tax his tears.

Tax his bills,

Tax his gas,

Tax his notes,

Tax his cash.

Tax him good and let him know

That after taxes, he has no dough.

If he hollers,

Tax him more,

Tax him until he's good and sore.

Tax his coffin,

Tax his grave,

Tax the sod in which he lays.

Put these words upon his tomb,

'Taxes drove me to my doom!'

And when he's gone,

We won't relax,

We'll still be after the inheritance TAX!!

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago,
and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What happened? Can you spell 'politicians!'
And I still have to 'press 1' for English.

I hope this goes around THE
USA at least a billion times
Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!

Are you sure you're not off 50 years, and only thinking of whites?

The Jungle was published in 1906. When I think of America 100 years ago, that's what comes to mind. And 30 years later, the Grapes of Wrath. In between, the rise of socialism and unionism.

Question the most prosperous nation bit too. The British Empire was still the superpower.

But back then we were the ones constantly throwing our military might around by getting involved in endless foreign wars while you guys stayed at home concentrating on making money. When did the Empire go from being a benefit to a burden? (Genuine question, I honestly don't know)
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

I think the airplane removed the advantage of the navy and the rather protective value of the English Channel. And the small population of England relative to the world became relevant. The US had a much greater separation due to the oceans, which is now becoming less significant, and similarly, has the same population ratio issues.
