VincentVL. 0 #26 January 15, 2008 The problem with the death penalty is not in these clearcut cases where some savage does the unspeakable. The death penalty is problematic for all those cases where people get "wrongfully" accused.
happythoughts 0 #27 January 15, 2008 In this area, we have abused womens shelters. Pick up the phone and you have protection. This women knew that her daughter was being slowly beaten to death. That angers me to a point that you cannot imagine. The human reaction to a child being beaten is to protect them, regardless of personal fear. While there are many examples of women living in fear, there are just as many who have selfishly put their children through years of Hell and sacrificed the lives. That is wrong. Everyone is fine with any fate that the man gets, regardless of his prior unhappy life circumstances. He is held responsible as an adult. Yet, some people spring to the defense of any woman as if there were an excusable reason for this. (Spouse abuse has been used more than once in Florida courts as a successful defense in spouse murder trials.) This woman is a criminal also.
