Weaslet 0 #1 October 13, 2006 I've only done one tandem jump and a bit of flying and but would love to get more involved. Ideally I would love to train as an instructor and have found a 'diploma in commercial skydiving' at http://www.skydivingnz.com which includes 200 jumps and a 12wk work placement on a dropzone. They say that they have over 95% job success rate for thier students. Career development loans are available for this course, meaning that the cost of the course can be paid back to the bank on completion, when suitable employment has been found. I can think of no other way of meeting the massive costs associated with parachute training. I was wondering if this course has any viability outside New Zealand. I have been told that you will need 800-1000+ jumps to become an instructor in the UK. If anyone has any advice please let me know.
