PLFXpert 0 #1 November 28, 2007 I just finished watching this documentary last night. I thought director Matthew Galkin did a pretty good job at keeping it balanced between interviews with supporters & detractors of PETA. If you missed it, here is the HBO schedule. The DVD will release January 8th, 2008 and is available through Netflix.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
ryoder 1,590 #2 November 28, 2007 Have you seen the Penn & Teller episode of "Bullshit" about PETA? If so, how did it compare?"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones.

It touches on a lot of the same material & has some of the same criticism (minus the sarcasm, which admittedly always makes things more fun for me to watch and read, but I sucked it up and watched anyways).Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. I love Penn & Teller, but on some of the "Bullshit" episodes, Penn's language goes WAY overboard and degrades the quality of the show, IMHO."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. PLFXpert 0 #7 November 28, 2007 Some of the points made by Penn & Teller are really moot, others hold water. Such is true for most one-sided arguments which is why I generally like a bit more balance before buying the rhetoric. I believe the I Am An Animal documentary provided that balance. I don't expect it stands to change the overall view of either side, but it certainly provides some wonderful perspective.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. masterrig 1 #8 November 29, 2007 A friend of mine, related his thoughts on 'animal rights activists'. He expressed wonder at the thought that Walt Disney is really the one who triggered thoughts of animal rights by 'humanizing' the animals in his feature length animations as well as his animal documentaries.
