Explain your issues with Hillary Clinton

Someone once told me that the definition of sales was "overcoming objections".
I guess that politicians are selling themselves.

Most of the time, if you are on a car lot, at least you want to look at cars. If you kept going around asking, "So, why won't you buy our crappy brand of cars?", you may have an uphill battle on the sale.

If a thread called "explain your issues" with a candidate seems like a reasonable discussion, maybe the candidate isn't that viable.

Interesting perspective. I do not believe (and I think you are saying the same) that not considering a vote for Hillary is being a bigot.:S

I don't think Hillary is electable in the general election, because as we see in this very forum and this very thread, there are simply too many bigots out there.

You know, professor, I personally resent that statement.[:/]

So if she were a man, how many more votes would she get? It's hard to find an analogue because her history as First Lady/Co-President is certainly part of the dislike for her.

But Charles Schumer is the other Senator, and we don't like him much better.

The question to ask is how many women are voting for her exclusively because she is the first female candidate to run? Do those sexists outnumber the opposing sexists? Probably.

It's like saying that people wouldn't vote for Jesse Jackson because they are bigots. Meanwhile, Colin Powell could have been elected president while Jesse Jackson could not.

A VERY large percentage of people who wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton WOULD vote for Cunnilingus Rice. Notably, nearly all people who WOULD vote for Hillary WOULD NOT vote for Condi Rice. It would not be for racist reasons - it would be for a philosophical reason.

Note, I would vote for neither Condi Rice nor Hillary - I tend to agree with neither.

I think my case is a strong one.

If you're right, that picture is designed to improve her image and attract the bigots who woudn't vote for her because she's a woman. Somehow, I don't think that was the intent.

I find the personalities of Hillary, GWB, Al Sharpton, and Rush Limbaugh to be quite unattractive. You've made no case showing how any such opinions make me a bigot.

I don't. You inferred that I was a bigot because I won't vote for Hillary. Regardless of whether she has a penis, I differ philosophically from her political views. It has nothing to do with her being a woman, a white woman, Wellesey-educated, Yale Law, Arky livin, no, NY livin person. Okay, anything associated with Chicago can cause problems (just kidding on the last one).

There are plenty of people out there, yes, who would never vote for a woman, or a black, white, etc. But to label the entirety of people who would not vote for her as somehow bigoted is neither accurate, nor is it something likely to add to a meaningful exchange.
