GQ_jumper 4 #76 November 21, 2007 As for breaks on debts, etc., Gawain can clarify further, I'm sure. How about it, Max? Quote Yeah not so much on that one!! At the moment if you are guard or reserve you can have the interest rate of your debts lowered, this is due to the fact that all the guard and reserve units that have been called up since 9-11 have had people bitching and crying that they are actually having to do the job that they volunteered to do and they go running like little bitches to congressman for help. Those of us on active duty get a big hefty "fuck you" from creditors when we ask for a lower rate while deployed, trust me. My mortgage company gave two shits less that I was leaving, and won' even give me a break on the penalty for selling the house within 3 years of buying it because I am on orders to move elsewhere. Guard and reservists cry and whine til they get special treatment and extra pay, those of us on active duty are used to getting the shaft so we pretty much just suck it up.History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Years, in fact. Does this therefore make him a "deserter"? Being released from duty for academic purposes isn't all that unusual. And there are official documents to back that release now arent there. Where was Bush.. and where are his documents.. concerning his flight physical he could not have passed.... where are the discharge documents.... How come none of the people assigned to that squadron at the time can remember him....I would think the other pilots would remember one of their own.. at least with any unit I ever served with....it is the Air Force after all and the pilots are the top of food chain.... everyone knows who they are in a flying unit. Let's just say for the moment that the allegations are, in broad terms, correct: The final year of a six year commitment was waived due to educational advancement. How is this the same as someone who left the country in order to avoid serving? In the Army, enlistees are allowed to pursue "Green to Gold" in which they are officially discharged from their enlistments in the Army and they become a contracted ROTC cadet while pursuing a degree. Most come back as 2LTs, but not all cadets make it through. Their commitments then go unfulfilled. The fact that no one "remembers" is irrelevant. I have no probelm believing he could not have passed a physical.. based on other reports... he was quite the party boy.. DUI and all.
