I was not disagreeing with our helping them. I am all for that because, IMO, it was the human thing to do.

No worries. When I see my fellow brethren completing a dangerous evolution safely, I get warm feelings and hope I warrant the same. those pirates tend to get cocky and shoot at us every now and then.
