shropshire 0 #1 October 21, 2007 clicky QuoteAt least 12 Turkish soldiers have been killed following an ambush by Kurdish rebels near the Iraqi border - with 32 rebels also killed, officials say. The PKK guerrilla group claimed it had also taken "several" soldiers hostage, but this was denied by the government. But it seems like the Turkish government are not about to rush into an invasion ..... Clear headed. (.)Y(.) shropshire 0 #3 October 21, 2007 Depends on if they have their Eastern or Western hat on today..... it seems quite the fashion to announce invasions in the west, even years before they actually happen. The turks have been building up forces on the border for a wee while now. It seems like they may have been waiting for a catalyst...... a sort or Perl Harbour event..... I wonder if they have been 'asked' not to by the US? (.)Y(.) Zep 0 #4 October 21, 2007 Any action that keeps Turkey out of the EEC is fine by me. Personally I'd like to see the Kurds win this one Then I'd like to see the Cypriots rise up an kick them out of Cyprus. Turkey is a convenient back door for the Americans so the rest of the world has to put up with it's actions Gone fishing
