Gato 0 #51 October 17, 2007 Quote You appear to be making the claim that everything Michael Moore says is true until someone proves otherwise in this little corner of the internet. I'll tell you right now, no one cares enough about what you believe to hold your hand through this. A couple people in this thread have given examples and references to further reading in the hopes that maybe you'll start taking what Michael Moore says with a grain of salt. That's all you can expect anyone to offer you in their spare time. Wow, I think I just got clocked. You appear to be upset with me because of someone else's attitudes and behaviors in this forum. I never said I thought he was telling the truth, but some folks immediately pounce on him, and I wanted to know why. So I'm reading the page links that have been posted here, just so you all know I'm not slacking. The main reason I started this thread was to perhaps arrive at a comparison of truth to lies, a ratio of untruth, so to speak. I do the same thing when looking at any elected official I may vote for. Sorry if I caused a disturbance within the Force.T.I.N.S.
NCclimber 0 #52 October 17, 2007 Here's a quote I found that addresses what is so smarmy about Michael Moore's films QuoteSome have stated that all movies shade the truth or worse. That may be literally true; however, it is clearly unethical to manipulate scenes in a documentary in such a way as to create "facts" or connections (particularly to create the appearance of cause and effect or guilt by association) that are false or misleading. There is general agreement that Moore was repeatedly guilty of that in "Bowling for Columbine" and "Roger and Me". I have not seen "Fahrenheit 9/11", but many, even those who appear to agree with Moore's cause, seem to agree that he does the same in that movie.
