I do not resent doing my part John. What I resent is when the Govt wants to come and take more because they have some new bullshit welfare program they want to buy votes with. I am taxed out at this point. They take enough from us. They need to cut spending. If they ran a business like they run the Govt they would have been bankrupt long ago.

Third option you did not mention. Hire a citizen or someone who has come here legally through the appropriate channels and have them pay all the taxes they should pay since they will be working legally.
My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

I hav e more issue of whose pockets so much of it is going into.. Cost plus contracts to "friends of the administration" but I guess the right wing feel those are necessary... no matter how wastefull

Uh ok, because when the left wing is in power everything is on the up and up and the friends of the administration are told to screw off. Whatever. No matter who is in power the corruption and pats on the back run rampant.

I love how you guys try to deflect critisism of this amount of corruption and deficit spending that has reached the highest levels ever seen in our government...by saying .. they all do it.....
They all have not done it.. this level of greed and incompetence has not been seen in over 120 years... Boss Tweed would be very very proud of Boss Bush and Boss Cheney.

I voted for Bush and I am not happy with his performance. The deficit spending is out of control, he has done nothing concerning immigration which IMO is one of the most pressing problems facing this country. And I think some things have been accomplished in Iraq but how are we going to get the troops out? I don't think anyone knows. So don't paint me with that broad brush. I am conservative but I am not happy with Bush. When I voted for him he was the lesser of two evils. Kerry being the other evil.

ROFLMAO ... of course I can't find a family doctor here in Canuck'ville if my life depended on it. All our doctors have gone south. In theory our socialized medical system is great. But in reality as long as the money in medicine is south of the border, our socialized medical system will continue to hemorage as the population of Canuck'ville continues to grow and age.
But my monopoly money is still worth more than yours and I can thank GWB for that gift.

I don't think Kerry would have done any better. It had nothing to do with the Swift Boat Crap. More to do with his lack of ideas or policies that were worth a crap. Main problem is that too many people want to use the same square mile corridor of roads downtown, as well as the Bay Bridge during the same time in the morning and afternoon. Rush 'hour' on the bridge starts before 6am and runs well past 9. So the notion of variable pricing (like the toll roads near San Diego) is highly likely to come along. I think the charge to enter downtown is much less likely, esp since they tore down all the freeways within the city, so you have to go on city streets to get anywhere in town.
Secondary problem is that you have a bunch of car hating Supervisors who think that the solution to transit is to make driving too expensive. In general, the poor do not get a break here. They're supposed to ride Muni. New housing developments have a strict limit on the number of parking spaces that can be created and it's often less than 1:1 for units and spaces (the max is 1:1)
