Career Military and Divorce

Recommended Posts

Also, in Oregon (and you'll love this one) she can remarry, divorce him/them and come back at any past husband for alimony. At least the courts put a stop to THAT problem for me.

So what you're saying is that if I lived in Oregon I could go after my ex-wife for half of what Hustler paid her since I bought the boobs that got her in there in the first place even though she is since divorced again, damn I knew I lived in the wrong state:P

Oh, life has gotten WAY better. I'm already remarried (divorce was 3 yrs ago) to the perfect woman (no offense to any of you women on here) but just contemplating retirement from the Navy has made me realize i'm screwed IRT my retirement.

Sorry to hear of the shit sandwich you seem to be eating, but d'you know, whilst you were building on your pension, it seems the Mrs was at home doing the housework, squaring the kids away, and doing the odd bit of work herself.

Not exactly a career situation is it?

Mate, you were the bread winner, and therefore, you were the one with the pension. She only really had you, future income wise didn't she?

So I think it's fair she has this entitlement. Hard, definently, but fair.

But you have my sympathy - I know how hard military life can be on a marriage. It wouldn't ever surprise me to one day find myself in a similiar situation.

p.s. you've already remarried!? Are You mad?

'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'
