Just want to see if people are truly open-minded.The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help. livendive 8 #2 September 17, 2007 I think it'll be a long time before we get a candidate who says "I don't know" to questions regarding faith. Given that I don't see much difference between mormons, catholics, muslims, jews, and protestants, the particular brand of religion a candidate subscribes to isn't a factor I consider. I do think he'd have a difficult time resolving mormon teachings with my political views, but since you said to assume he agrees with me, I'll ignore that. (Oh, the humanity..) We already learned our lesson once when JFK was voted in and he promptly had that tunnel to the Vatican built. Fool us twice, shame on us. That puts high scrutiny on stances Romney makes on gays, abortion, and other issues that are supposed to be private. The LDS Church was the biggest financial backer of the gay marriage ban initiative in California. It is a highly organized body, making it very effective at implementing its goals. Gawain 0 #8 September 18, 2007 I personally don't have an issue with his religion, and if I agreed with his platform, and he was the party nominee, I would probably vote for him. However, I don't think he'll be the nominee. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
