The point is:
1) You criticized me for posting thread-starter messages with links to news stories, and;
2) You do the same thing yourself. Therefore;

The bottom line is that news stories are a good way to introduce a subject from current events, and to get some basic facts and info out in the open for discussion. So I don't see what your big problem is with this technique.

If you don't like it, ignore the threads.

Sometimes I don't post my personal opinions with the thread-starter message because I don't want to bias anyone's response - I want to see what opinions and direction things will take on their own. Shortly thereafter, my own opinions will usually enter into the picture, amidst everyone else's.

As for gun subjects, like this one, anyone who was followed gun threads here for any length of time at all, has no doubts about where I stand on guns. So I don't know what your beef is.

Lots of people start threads without interjecting their own personal opinions. I don't see you bitching about anyone else doing it. So really, isn't this just an underhanded way to attack a pro-gun person, without having to address the actual subject matter?

Oh, and you're guilty of this "sin" too:

Well, there are more, but you get the idea. Your hands aren't clean on this technique either.

If you live in a glass house, be careful about throwing rocks.

So how about you anti-gun folks quit criticizing how the subject was introduced, and stick to discussing the actual subject.

It's all good, apparently for Quade is ok to come in here and have total disregard for the forum rules, and in the belief that we actually don't know the meaning of the words he writes, doesn't man up on his "I'll join the NRA" challenge, when he gets called on it.

Oh well, just another normal and usual anti-gun perspective.

Thanks for the explanation. I, too, sometimes use this method as well (as you so amply pointed out).

However, I was not pointing fingers at you for it in my post, so why deflect and take offense?
(oh, and btw, there was no reason to post this in a 'gun thread' as I am neutral on the subject. Its just that the opportunity presented itself in this thread
