Many people will talk for hours about their political opinions, but when they are presented with a cheaper/easier option that goes against those opinions, they will almost always abandon their principles and choose the easier course. I've known Kris for a while, and she is not one of those people. I hate what WalMart does to communities, and how they treat their employees, but I admit, I do shop there sometimes. The thing is, since they came in, everything else shut down, so what else can you do? I'd probably have to fly to Alaska to find a nice 'Mom & Pop' to buy from. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down. Nightingale 0 #77 August 7, 2007 Quote Two in diapers can be pretty compelling. Didn't mean to stir the pot on this one. I have no idea what you beef is with Target. My wife loves Target. So do many of her friends with small children. My beef with Target is that they allow pharmacists to interfere with medical decisions made by patients and their doctors. A Target pharmacist is allowed to simply not dispense medication that the pharmacist has a personal issue with.

I'll order online if I have the time to wait for a mail order. Otherwise, pretty much everything WalMart sells can be found elsewhere if you're willing to drive a bit. I guess if you're in a small town with not a lot nearby, going to WalMart might be a necessity sometimes.
ErricoMalatesta 0 #79 August 8, 2007 Quote Quote 'The Liberal media" in the context of US media is a fucking joke. All US media is so right wing that the most liberal by all standards would at BEST be considered center. In YOUR opinion, obviously...since there are a BUNCH of studies out there that prove you wrong. No that is not my opinion that is the opinion of most credible analysts. Quote Quote Here is one. You'll have to do better than that - it only examines a US perspective, not a world perspective, of the US media. It is also completely irrelevant. 90% of journalists support abortion, so what? That has absolutely nothing to do with the framework in which the US media is confined too. Three of them aren't even opinions they are very easily researchable facts. US resource use is immoral, exploits the third world and the structure of society causes alienation and you have only 50% of journalists agreeing? But back to the point, none of that has anything to do with how big US media operates. There is a self imposed limit to how 'left' they are and they go no further which has nothing to do with the personal opinions (as they barely play into media at all) of individual journalists. Quote Quote Quote Here is one. You'll have to do better than that - it only examines a US perspective, not a world perspective, of the US media. YOUR problem is YOU care about what the world thinks. If that was really important we would not be the country we are. The WORLD is jelous of what we have accomplished so the view is tainted. But you just go ahead and keep worrying about what others think. That ranks right up there with being pissed some one else makes more money than you. Or they don't pay enough taxesIt is a bitch aint it Your problem is you are grossly uneducated, probably home schooled, and as such still think that terms such as 'Republican', 'Democrat' and 'Right and left' when relating to the US political/power system have any real meaning/noticeable distinctions
warpedskydiver 0 #80 August 8, 2007 I am throwing the bullshit blanket on you, yeah John cannot fathom that boths sides of the aisle are the A and B squads of the same team, the team that is playing the People in the middle. But to call him grossly uneducated, just made you an asshole and stupid as well. John is actually Grossly Educated. As is Bill Von, that is the main reason we all give those two as much shit as possible, to keep them humble!

And I think errico's made a valid point with regard to the R's and D's. They're both really the same party. If you look at the party spectrum, then zoom out until you can see the "L", you'll see both D and R occupying a narrow band, with the D's more towards the center. When the debate is as limited as it is it's easy to think that it represents the entire spectrum.
Zipp0 1 #86 August 8, 2007 Quote I'll order online if I have the time to wait for a mail order. I order something online just about every week, sometimes a few things per week. I think many online businesses are the modern equivalent to the old Mom & Pop places. I love the online stores that send a nice extra gift with the order and a personally signed note. Heck, I ordered a muzzle brake for my AK and they sent me a very nice Swiss Army Knife for free. WalMart never did anything like that for me. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.
