lawrocket 3 #1 July 18, 2007 So I saw the news tonight - coverage of all the cots being brought in. Hmmm. Sounds to me more like a sleepover? All that's missing is the bartender and whores... My prediction - no changes will happen. The Dems in the Senate need to make it look like they are trying to get us out of the war but cannot let the troops come home. The Dems need the troops in Iraq so that they can take both chambers of Congress and the Presidency next November. There is no way in HELL that they will take this election issue out of the election. billvon 3,132 #2 July 18, 2007 Hmm. From your analysis, if this is an understood strategy - wouldn't the republicans be solidly behind an immediate withdrawal, if it guaranteed the defeat of the democrats?

From your analysis, if this is an understood strategy - wouldn't the republicans be solidly behind an immediate withdrawal, if it guaranteed the defeat of the democrats? There are Republicans figuring it out. As the election gets nearer more and more will distance themselves. Thus the Republicans will be able to say "Don't blame me - I've been trying." And then there are those who believe that it is a sign of weakness to admit you are wrong and others who believe that we are winning or can win. My wife is hotter than your wife.
