Rookie120 0 #7 July 13, 2007 Hmmmm, I got this itch between my toes. Might need to go to the doc for this one. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
ryoder 1,590 #8 July 13, 2007 Quote anybody else see the latest? as always, just enough to make me wonder. Ripple Effect? 3-4 times a week I go for a 30 mile bicycle ride. At the 15 mile point there is a little country store on the outskirts of Boulder where I stop to take a break. Last night I went in there and wandered into a bunch of locals having a conspiracy/survivalist meeting. Every wondered what SC would be like if it happened in person? I think I know now.I had this character in my face telling me that if I didn't realize 9/11 was an inside job, then I was either an idiot or had never spent 15 minutes on the Internet looking up the facts. This guy had gone beyond rationally looking at evidence to the point that his belief in a conspiracy was based on blind faith. He was on the same plane as religious fundamentalists."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. ryoder 1,590 #10 July 15, 2007 I just saw one of the normal guys who was at that meeting. He was apologized for the nutjob who was in my face, and told me they have canceled any future meetings due to him. I asked him: "Just out of curiosity, what does that guy do for a living?" "He's a physicist." "Thunk!" (sound of my jaw hitting the floor)"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. birdlike 0 #12 July 15, 2007 I bought, read, and passed to a friend the book that the editors of Popular Mechanics magazine wrote about 9/11 conspiracy theories. They did a pretty thorough shredding of all the major theories, from "the steel wouldn't have melted" to "it was a missile hit the Pentagon." I had to send it to a friend who was quoting chapter and verse from that internet nonsense "Loose Change." Hey, did you know that Rosie O'Donnell is a structural engineer?! (Evidently she studied for a degree in between racks of ribs and pints of rice pudding...) tbrown 26 #17 July 15, 2007 The only 9/11 conspiracy was the bin Laden/al Qaeda conspiracy. Which unfortunately went off without a hitch for the most part, minus the ordinary Americans who gave their lives going in on a Pennsylvania farm rather than taking out the U.S. Capitol.
