CanuckInUSA 0 #4 July 10, 2007 Since I don't believe in the Burble (I believe Hey-Zuess walked this earth and believe he was crucified ... but I do not believe all the other stories about him). So I have already booked a first class ticket to hell and this is coming from more than the Catholic church. It comes from all Christians. No I prefer to sit this one on the side lines and watch the Christians go at each other. CanuckInUSA 0 #6 July 10, 2007 Hey nobody else reported this story. So I decided to start the thread. Remember I am not the one telling the world there is only "one" true church. But the Pope and the Vatican are. I'm agnostic ... I don't know if there is or isn't a God. But if there is one, I am pretty sure it is not the man made God humans have created. I believe there is a god but I will never know what the "right" religion is. I wish these "ours is the right religion" people could tell me why if I dedicate my life to doing what I to the best of my ability beleive he wants, God would punish me with eternal burning for having the misfortune of being taught the wrong version of the same story. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

There was a time when I also didn't believe in the Burble. Then one day I was on a ten-way, and as I was trying to dock, it rotated and my slot moved away sideways. Rather than fly around to the slot, I decided to take a shortcut over the back of another guy. As I passed over his back... BAM! The invisible hand of God reached out from above and slammed me into the guy's backpack. Now I'm a believer!"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. squarecanopy 0 #22 July 12, 2007 The Catholic church has always had this opinion, as they trace their roots back to Peter as the first Pope, being "ordained" by Jesus as the Rock or foundation of the Christian church. I believe that to be a misinterpretation and misrepresentation of the scripture. Whatever God Almighty has meant for good, we humans can screw up beyond all recognition. The best example of that statement that I can point to is "religion". Just burning a hole in the sky.....

SpeedRacer 1 #24 July 12, 2007 QuoteThe Vatican issued a document Tuesday restating its belief that the Catholic Church is the only true church of Jesus Christ. is this even news??? LOTS of denominations say that. That's why they were established, because they each believe they are the true church. There is really only one true church and it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with any particular religion or denomination.
