Zipp0 1 #201 July 6, 2007 Quote So why on Gods green earth would anyone continue, FOR MONTHS, to keep asking questions about something when he already knew who and why not to prosocute them? I will await an answer First off, I'm not sure that at the time there was any way he coud be certain that outing Plame was not a crime. His job as a prosecutor was to find out all of the details surrounding the case and determine if laws were broken. In that process, Libby perjured himself, thereby obstructing justice and preventing the whole truth from coming to light. He was tried, convicted, and then the president axed the sentence. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down. The voters said they want new leadership in Congress. The Dems have yet to demonstrate much leadership. They have passed legislation, have showed leadership on Iraq. But that doesn't get you past a veto. What are you saying? That even though the Dems control both houses, they're still little more than the President's bitches? Pretty much. I blame all of us for letting the situation evolve to this. Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

This has been true since FDR - didn't you get the memo? The President has the veto, so unless the majority party has a huge advantage or the President lost his own party, he calls the shots. If you were honestly expecting Pelosi to accomplish her agenda in the year before the election cycle with Shrub in charge, you're naive. But really, it's just more partisan bs. OTOH, should the Dems win the White House next month, you can expect the GOP senate to go fillibuster crazy again, and you'll again be posting here about how ineffective they are when it's actually the fault of your own boys. billvon 3,092 #208 July 12, 2007 ------------------------------------------------------ Bush Vows Action if Aides Had Role in Leak Democrats' Demand for Special Counsel Rejected By Mike Allen and Dana Milbank Washington Post Staff Writers Tuesday, September 30, 2003; Page A01 President Bush's chief spokesman said yesterday that the allegation that administration officials leaked the name of a CIA operative is "a very serious matter" and vowed that Bush would fire anybody responsible for such actions. The vow came as numerous Democratic leaders demanded the administration appoint a special counsel to investigate the charges that a CIA operative's name was divulged in an effort to discredit her husband, a prominent critic of Bush's Iraq policy. The White House rejected those calls, also saying it has no evidence of wrongdoing by Bush adviser Karl Rove or others and therefore no reason to begin an internal investigation. "There's been nothing, absolutely nothing, brought to our attention to suggest any White House involvement, and that includes the vice president's office, as well," said Scott McClellan, Bush's press secretary. He said that "if anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration." ---------------------------------------------------- Shouldn't be a problem, though. dorbie 0 #213 July 13, 2007 So he's saying he finally read a newspaper and it was Armitage. Come on, this is old news we know where the leak came from, and Armitage told Fitzgeralt who ordered Armitage to stay quiet about it as he tried to trap Libby. This is a friggin' pantomime. EVERYONE already knows it was Armitage so where's the story?
