She seems to be dead set on placing herself at the fringe. Interesting thing is that I read that The View lost 400,000 viewers after she left. What do you make of that? quade 4 #8 June 27, 2007 QuoteMaybe I am reading something into this that is not there but still, seem strange Costumes are wierd things. Does anybody have any idea when or for what occasion the kid was wearing the costume? At Halloween I see kids in, what -I- would consider completely inappropriate costumes, but then, I'm not the person wearing it. To ME the only thing wierd about the photo is the kid probably didn't pick the costume herself. Edited to add; OK, watched the video. Frankly I'm MORE disturbed of the kid dressed up as a princess. Guerilla fighter is a wierd choice, but would anybody think twice about, say, Joan of Arc? Meh. billvon 3,119 #9 June 27, 2007 Definitely odd. >but wonder what would be goin g on if it was someone other than Rosie?? About the same. Coulter says things a lot more provocative than that picture is, and there are plenty of artists out there that do create far more offensive pieces. Couldn't find the actual pictures but saw the one on the FOX news web site. Seems like a lame attempt to protest the war (not that there's anything wrong with protesting war). "Oh look. My kid used to be a sweet little princess, now she's mean ol' soldier." Whatever. What I find really weird are the comments. "Distrubing" "Made me cry" "that picture is gross" etc... Damn, people. JohnRich 4 #18 June 27, 2007 Rosie's response, from WorldNetDaily. I wonder if Rosie went out looking for that ammo belt herself? So I guess, according to Rosie, it's okay to play with toy guns, but not to own the real thing. Doesn't that seem a bit hypocritical?

If you had a five year old son, but you thought he was too young to skydive - would you confiscate his toy paratrooper? (I am no fan of Rosie, but that was a silly example.) NCclimber 0 #20 June 27, 2007 Her claiming her kids dress up that way just to play with toy guns is pretty creepy... or just a lame excuse.
JohnRich 4 #21 June 27, 2007 Quote> So I guess, according to Rosie, it's okay to play with toy > guns, but not to own the real thing. > Doesn't that seem a bit hypocritical? Uh, no. If you had a five year old son, but you thought he was too young to skydive - would you confiscate his toy paratrooper? (I am no fan of Rosie, but that was a silly example.) That's different. In your example there is no objection to the activity of adults participating in parachuting. It's just a question of being old enough to do it safely. With Rosie and guns, however, she doesn't want any adults to be able to have them. Period. Therefore, it is hypocritical for her to allow her child to play with toy replicas, of something she wants to be banned. Rosie quote: "I don't care if you think it's your right. I say: Sorry, it's 1999. We have had enough as a nation. You are not allowed to own a gun, and if you do own a gun I think you should go to prison." kelpdiver 2 #22 June 27, 2007 Quote Unemployed gabfest queen Rosie O'Donnell, who last went to war with Elisabeth Hasselbeck only to retreat from her position on "The View," has drafted a reinforcement in the form of her waif-like 4-year-old daughter Vivienne Rose, better known as "Vivi." As much as it makes me laugh, this is not the writing that should be used by a "fair and balanced" news source. Still, they served her intent of keeping her name in the news. Apparently she won't be the new host for the Price is Right either, due to geography. (did they actually ask?)
