One of the professors deeply involved in that project spoke at Ohio State a few months ago but I had a class and couldn't attend (believe me, I tried!). Douva 0 #8 June 21, 2007 That's really interesting. I can't imagine how many different parameters they had to plug into that program to create that kind of simulation. Think of all the variables and physical characteristics that would have to be understood by the program, in order to come up with that.I don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names.
Gawain 0 #9 June 22, 2007 That was very interesting. It addressed my own wondering about what the impacts were like.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! JohnRich 4 #10 June 22, 2007 Where are the variables for the explosives planted by President Bush's conspirators, in order to make the towers fall, and create justification for war? And what about the Rosie O' factor, which says that steel doesn't melt from fire? Obviously, this study is deeply flawed and inadequate.
dorbie 0 #11 June 22, 2007 Excellent stuff, the lack of explosion simulation and using the fuel fluid dynamics alone to fake it is troubling. That aircraft became a giant FAE soon after impact. It would be nice to see some estimate at least of the effect of this omission.
dorbie 0 #12 June 22, 2007 P.S.There is no way that they are rendering this in Google Earth, that was slightly misleading. I suspect they just provide context at the start with a simple aircraft animation into simplified towers in situ. Then they switch to some other animation/rendering system, and of course they even mention ray-tracing for the fuel visualization. So the Google Earth part is just at the start.
