OK. 479.5 years in prison, but he can be out in 325.75 years with good behaviour.
Only if he's allowed to live with the general population. ... ... ...

If you're convicted under mental insanity, aren't you held in a mental ward until you're deemed cured and safe to society as determined by some medical board?

This was great work by the Toronto Police Service. They are by far the world leaders in combatting online child pornography.
Good Job Boys!!!!
Can you imagine having to look at that shit for a living?

Better yet, let him live close enough to general population for him to hear their threats, and let him know that after 10 years he will be released into general population. let him sweat it a bit, as he contemplates his impending fate.

QuoteI don't know how this topic falls under the forum rules, but I'll try to walk the fine line.
It is generally accepted across most of the US, that people who do this kind of crap to kids, do not rehabilitate or recover through any kind of treatment. Even career criminals cannot abide them.
There are measures being introduced or prepared in some states now that will expand capital punishment for convictions of this sick sh*t.
I'm with you there mate, string them up.

There is treatment and medication available for most types of mental illness. Much of the time it is very effective. I've talked to mental health professionals that have a very dismal outlook on treating a pedifile. No form of treatment that I know of, has proven effective. I would be very skeptical of any pedifile that claims to be cured of this.....Steve1

I tend to agree with you. Awhile back, I saw a news program where inmates, all pedophiles, were interviewed. Each inmate was asked what the first thing was they would do upon getting out of prison. Each response was; "Find a kid!" Phsychiatrists were asked their opinion as to whether these inmates could be cured. Each responded "No!" How many times, have we read in newspapers or saw on t.v. news where a child was molested by a repeat offender. When a child predator is incarcerated, they should spend the rest of their lives in prison.

That title (honor??) officially goes to Mark Shurtleff, Attorney General of the State of Utah, and his Internet Crimes Against Children task force. More arrests (not per capita) and more convictions in the last three years than any state in history. And, worldwide they've uncovered many child porn rings from Croatia, Estonia, etc. His team was part of the 700 member bust in London this past week.
Very proud of Mark, He's done a few skydives for charity. Had to lose 40 lbs to do it, but he's done it a few times.

Which started with the Toronto Police Sex Crimes Unit Child Eploitation Section discovering the chat room in Spring 2005, it was also a member of that unit that managed to infiltrate the chat room and get himself "promoted" to the only moderator of the group.
The same unit that contacted Microsoft directly and had specific software written for them, now in use by 16 forces in Canada, but spearheaded by Toronto Police Service.
These boys and girls do an amazing job. I could not imagine having to deal with that filth day in day out.

I have seen some inmates with sentences like this. One inmate who repetedly raped a 13 year old girl, his second separate charge for L&L of a child under 14, is serving 241 years. (approximately).
I agree, but the hug-a-thug crowd will not, so I say life in prison to avoid complaints. That said it should be hard time. Isolation cell in constant lockdown. No communication with other prisoners, no TV no computer, no books or other reading material, no need for a clock or calender, no visitation. Make his cell suicide proof. As a civilised society I accept that we house and feed him.....nothing more.
