"Now, what would happen if this occurred with 1,000 18-22 year-olds back in the States? I imagine there would be hoots, catcalls, laughter, a few rude comments, and everyone would sit down and call for a movie. Of course, that is, if they had stood for the National Anthem in the first place." I thoroughly disagree with this comment. I spend most of my life with 18-22 year olds, and a VERY SMALL MINORITY are rude. In fact I have never seen one fail to stand for the National Anthem.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

vortexring 0 #5 June 17, 2007 That's nice to hear - over here in the UK it's quite 'fashionable' to speak in derogatory terms in regard to the 'play station' generation. A Commanding Officer of UK troops in Afghanistan recently made some statements concerning this. His point was simply of sincere praise for his 'boys', how they were conducting themselves on operations; from their interactions with the locals to full on firefights with the Taliban. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'
