Once again proving the inadequacy of the metric system!

Really? How fast is it? Please do not use any man made units in your response.

Really damn fast!
Faster than BillVon can chug a micro brewery beer!

Oh, wait...beer is man-made. Invented by the Gods, made by man.

That guy is so fast he can turn off the light and be in bed before it gets dark.

The superiority of the SI system is due to the fact that it's RATIONAL.

Are you saying that the Imperial system doesn't use fractions and the metric system does? ;)

fractions, yea, right, wasnt it you with something like 2.4 inches!? so, that's 2*25.4mm, but how much is 0.4 inches!? 4*2.54!?

if i do a calculation, i do it in metric numbers. not a third of this and half of that really..

you havent read the article, right!?

here's your metric calendar!

oh yea, of course, it's french, cant be good right!?

pretty much catches on like your imperial system, doesnt it!? that's why pretty much all countries except the US and england are still using the imperial system.. :S

I prefer Cm over Inch, because it makes my d*ck look bigger in terms of the number I can quote....

Think about it quade...In Cm's you might even go into double digits:P

even if it didnt, it still be mm's, and that would STILL be double-digits; hopefully! :S

Quick! How many quarts is 23.96 cubic inches and how many pounds of water is that? No calculators please;)

I actually really like that one. I think they'd go well with "megastones" and "microscores"

Quick! How many litres is 13.3kg of gasoline?

The point here being, unless you're talking about pure water at a specific temperature and pressure, your argument falls to pieces.

wouldnt matter about about gasoline either then, right!? as the volume would also change with pressure and temparature...

Pretty easy, actually.
It is common knowledge that the specific gravity of gasolin is about .75 so 13.3/.75 gives pretty darn close to 18 litres.
Yes, I did that in my head.
Still working on the miles thing?

>Checked my figuring with a calculator. 13.3/.75 is 17.73, so I was off by a couple percent. But then I checked what the actual SH of gasoline is...and it is .74. 13.3/.74=17.97.
I wasn't so far off after all. :)Try that with your imperial measurements.

About 10 seconds to do the rough mental calculation, about 30 seconds on a calculator.

I guess Quade needs some more time to figure his cubic inches, quarts, and pounds.
A hint: A quart of water weighs two pounds and is 57.75 cubic inches.

Quick - how many square chains in an acre?

How many m^2 in a hectare?

How many cubic inches in a gill?

How many cubic cm in a liter?

AND WHERE IS YOUR ALTIFEET ?
I jump with an altimeter :P

Us Imperial guys realize that there's a difference between a measurement device and a standard of measurement. :P:P:P

So what is the charge on the electron in US Imperial units?
What is the magnetic moment of an electron (Bohr magneton) in US Imperial units? What is the value of the Lamb constant in US Imperial units?

To be more useful everyday - what is a current of 1.0 amp (amp is SI) in US Imperial units? What is a potential of a 12 volt car battery in US Imperial units (volt is SI)? What is the typical strength of the magnet in an MRI machine in US Imperial units (Tesla is SI)?
