I know we've had a few threads on amnesty lately but please be objective and view this short video thru it's entirety. Gingrich hit this subject dead on and I have to say that I'm pissed at Bush. (Somebody make a note of that. I don't believe I've ever said that before)

That site is blocked over here, but I don't care for the bill to begin with. I think they need to get the enforcement part of it under control before starting anything on visa issues...

Speaker Gingrich is remarkably well spoken, and plainly practical. I don't think he'll run for the White House, but I hope he will find a more active role in government again if conditions permit it after the 08 elections.

You never know, he might run. Every time he is confronted with the question, he ducks it, but never says he won't. It's up to us as countrymen to either hold the Senate and Congress accountable or replace them.

You have to give Bush credit for one thing. After six years he has succeeded with one of his campaign promises - he has united democrats and republicans. (Against him, but hey, he never said how he would unite them.)

There's no question the Republican base is almost universally pissed off over this. It's amazing to witness the executive basically giving everyone the bird. But this goes beyond their base as far as I can see.

Ask a politician what happens to illegals who don't pay their fine or don't apply for a z visa. There's not even an answer to that. There's no plan and no intention of deporting anyone even with this framework in place.

Newt's closing comments make a lot of sense, but it only serves to illustrate a lack of will to enforce existing laws. The government is absolutely complicit in this in the face of public opposition.
