But do they actually not believe in it, or do they feel that they just have to say that in order to be electable? And which is worse?Do you want to have an ideagasm? I think that they're simply brown nosing a small but very vocal voting block which historically has high voter turnout. Sadly, to get them to vote you into elected office you have to pretend that you're going to deal with two issues that really should have nothing to do with your official duties. "prayer warriors"?), the reps will do it today, they both will do it tomorrow and again and again. my real thought on the thread title was "SO WHAT". Any honest, well meaning candidate that spoke their real internal beliefs (on issues that don't relate to getting the job done) can't win a national election. No matter how great their character is. No matter which party they side with. ... They were showing Obama, Hillary and Edwards doin' the holy hoedown while showing Giuliani and McCain claim that their faith is a personal matter. Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!!!! I take it none of you saw the debate last night? This was covered pretty extensively, and the general consensus was that they all believe God created the earth, but none of them are one hundred percent sure how or when he did it. The "Do you believe in evolution?" question is just a way of playing "gotcha" politics. You can't simply ask, "Do you believe in evolution?" because that's an unfairly broad question. Almost everyone acknowledges some form of evolution, be it microevolution or macroevolution, so in order to be fair, candidates should be asked to explain WHAT they believe, rather than being asked to answer a yes or no question. NOTE: I'm not a Republican; I'm just an American fed-up with "gotcha" politics.I don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names. Zipp0 1 #8 June 6, 2007 Concerning the debates in general, Wolf Blitzer should be punched in the face. "Raise your hand if you think that war is a good idea." What? Raise your hand? I mean, is this a presidential debate, or second period in Ms. Johnson's history class? "Raise your hand if you think Wolf Blitzer should be punched in the face." -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down. Those type of "Have you stopped beating your wife?" questions are reserved for the Repub candidates.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
