billvon 3,118 #2 June 4, 2007 > is there a lot of political pressure on the government right now for us to leave? That topic has been debated a lot here; you can read the threads on it for more info on what people here think. Some recent polls: About 2/3 of the country opposes the war; 1/3 supports it. A majority of americans support removing US troops by a certain date. In a recent CNN poll, 37% percent, said the United States can win the war in Iraq, 54% thought it couldn't. These numbers generally translate into political pressure for representatives to act according to their constituent's wishes. Be careful over there and come back safe. The question I have in return is how much press do you see operating in your AO? Meanwhile, there have been reports that a couple of high-ranking officers are drawing contingencies for restructuring or redeploying some of the forces there in early-mid-08, but no details. The rest of the news continues to focus primarily on casualty count, there has been marginal coverage of offensive operations in the country. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
