Lindsey 0 #3 May 23, 2007 Hope he likes the taste of crow. It IS sad that so many people blindly supported him for so long that he wasn't thrown to the wolves long ago. It's sad that his actions have caused the deaths of so many people. It's sad that he's made a mockery of our nation. But there's nothing sad about his personal humiliation, imho. It's unfortunate, though, that he's so self-righteous that even as he's spitting out black feathers he'll never acknowledge that he was wrong. linz-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. Richards 0 #4 May 23, 2007 I am not sure what to think. If Iraq falls to complete shit, then it is not Bush that pays the ultimate price, so I hope that the UN's reaction to this will be based on the situation rather than a desire to see Bush eat crow. Let the history books feed him crow, rather than further humanitarian disaster if it is at all avoidable. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

Let the history books feed him crow, rather than further humanitarian disaster if it is at all avoidable. You are exactly right! The problem is that no politician can afford to be seen propping up a lame duck GWB. It almost seems like the Iranian hostage crisis where the Ayatola wanted to be rid of the hostages but had to wait until Carter was gone until he could release them so as not to let Carter gain any vindication at all for his approach. Sarkozy will be anxious to improve relations with the US but troops in Iraq to support Bush will be too high a price. In Canada the Conservative Prime Minister Harper is very supportive of Bush, but he knows that sending troops to Iraq will cost him his minority government. A similar situation is true for most NATO countries not already there. In UK Prime Minister Brown will be trying his best to distance himself from US foreign policy in a desperate attempt to survive the wrath of the voters. Bush is despised around the world and until he is gone I don't see any solutions coming from the international community.

My money would be that we would then start hearing about how well the troop surge had been going and how close to victory we were until the UN poked their noses in and stuffed everything up.Do you want to have an ideagasm? ChasingBlueSky 0 #9 May 24, 2007 Didn't GW say recently that the surge is working and the violence is going down??? You mean we can't believe what the POTUS tells us? Funny enough, GW spent how many years telling us that we didn't need the UN and that they werel losing relevence in the world...now he may have to ask them for help? If this irony wasn't built on the deaths of so many innocent people in Iraq along with the tragic lose of so many of our troops, I would almost enjoy this._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
