billvon 3,111 #76 May 24, 2007 Since the rest of this thread had 8 PA's that I could find, and it was between three people over about two dozen posts I got rid of the whole thing from the first attack back. Sorry if anyone lost a "valid" post in all that.
NCclimber 0 #77 May 24, 2007 Censored threads. Oh my. Is this going to be a regular thing?
billvon 3,111 #78 May 24, 2007 >Is this going to be a regular thing? That depends on the posters here. You have no "right to free speech" here, and posts that violate the rules may be removed without warning. Because of how our SW works, this may occasionally remove "good" posts as well (if they are replying to the deleted post.) To avoid having posts deleted, do not engage in attacks, and do not reply to threads where such attacks are going on.
narcimund 0 #79 May 24, 2007 If my memory serves correctly the first post removed was mine and I'm pretty certain it was about theological issues only. There's certainly a lot of opportunity to interpret attacks in a lot of posts recently, but was that one of them? kallend 2,146 #80 May 24, 2007 OK, 1) What happened to the million trillion tons of fresh water? 2) Why kill all those animals just because humans were sinful 3) Wasn't a flood rather a blunt instrument to use? The Angel of Death in the Exodus story was much more selective, and quicker. 4) Why did it take a being that can create an entire universe in just 6 days so long (40 days and nights) to flood the Earth?... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

billvon 3,111 #82 May 24, 2007 Some boring numbers: Earth is 8000 miles in diameter. Its oceans currently contain about 320 million cubic miles of water. The atmosphere contains about 3171 cubic miles of water at any given time. If ALL this water could be rained out, it would cover the earth to a depth of 1 inch. To cover the highest mountaintops would require about 6 miles of water (30,000 feet or so.) That's 1207 million cubic miles of water, or about 4x the amount of water that is currently in the oceans. NCclimber 0 #84 May 24, 2007 Anyone remember who posted these? Quotewhy are you excusing bogus claims just because you share the religion of the claimants? Quoteyou're a hypocrite for applying standards to me that you have no intention of keeping to yourself. Try to keep up will you? Considering they're based on bogus assumptions, could they be considered PAs?

Royd 0 #86 May 24, 2007 Quotey'know...of all the bullshit in the bible, this is one story I actually could believe. Suppose it's a local story that took on international flair...maybe Noah just knew his immediate region, so the only animals on the ark were cows, horses, pigs, chickens, etc. It's modern day storytellers that added elephants, giraffes, and whatever else. To build the first vessel ever mentioned, of those dimensions, would have required years of labor and would have also required a reason to do so; i.e. a forewarning. On an aside, it is my understanding that the dimensions of the ark are perfect in the boatbuilding world.

billvon 3,111 #89 May 25, 2007 A note on the moderation of this thread - Several posters have gotten quite good at straddling the line on personal attacks to try to "get one in" without getting banned. This results in conversations like this: What you posted is a lie. Are you calling me a liar? It's what you posted. That's a PA! And you're a hypocrite because you said blah blah! No, THAT'S a PA. It's not a PA if you say one thing and do another. etc etc. I've tried telling people to cut it out. Usually doesn't work. So now I'm just deleting the entire exchange when it gets that convoluted. Solution if you do not want your stuff deleted - do not spend all that effort typing up veiled attacks, and do not reply to posts like that (since they will probably just go away.) akarunway 1 #90 May 26, 2007 Aha! Just found out. Noah is Chinese and still here. SOMEWHERE>http://www.guardian.co.uk/china/story/0,,2088589,00.htmlI hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
