masterblaster72 0 #1 May 15, 2007 from here QuoteBush signed an executive order directing federal agencies to craft regulations that will "cut gasoline consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles." He ordered the agencies — the departments of Transportation, Agriculture and Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency — to have the rules in place by the end of 2008. It's cooling off here in NYC this evening. I believe that's because hell just froze over. Zipp0 1 #12 May 15, 2007 Quote I was referring to the gas emissions that occur INSIDE the plane. It was a joke reply anyway. But couldn't tethered blimps be a solution in the future in a worst case scenario - IE, no gas left for rec aviation? The time to altitude would be much longer, but there would be zero emissions. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down. Or to be more precise - a well designed aerostat filled with hydrogen would be no more dangerous than an otter filled with fuel, especially given that it must burn it continuously five feet from where you exit the plane.
