mnealtx 0 #1 May 7, 2007 Yes, it's from a joke email...posting it here 'cuz I *KNOW* y'all will get it moved here anyway....ya fuckers!! I say...let's go for it!!! Quote HOW TO SAVE THE AIRLINES Dump the male flight attendants. No one wanted them in the first place. Replace all the female flight attendants with good-looking strippers! What the hell-- They don't even serve food anymore, so what's the loss? The strippers would at least triple the alcohol sales and get a "party atmosphere" going in the cabin. And, of course, every businessman in this country would start flying again, hoping to see naked women. Because of the tips, female flight attendants wouldn't need a salary, thus saving even more money. I suspect tips would be so good that we could charge the women for working the plane and have them kick back 20% of the tips, including lap dances and "special services." Muslims would be afraid to get on the planes for fear of seeing naked women. Hijackings would come to a screeching halt, and the airline industry would see record revenues. This is definitely a win-win situation if we handle it right -- a golden opportunity to turn a liability into an asset. Why didn't Bush think of this? Why do I still have to do everything myself? Sincerely, Bill ClintonMike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706
kallend 2,182 #2 May 7, 2007 Bush has a different strategy: triple the taxes on aviation fuel for general aviation, charge GA "user fees" to use ATC, put the airlines in charge and let the airlines set the rates. www.aopa.org/whatsnew/newsitems/2007/070507ak.html... Rookie120 0 #4 May 7, 2007 I say do what some strip clubs do and make the stripper/flight attn actually pay a fee to be able to dance in the isles! Hell we could make some money with this deal. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

ExAFO 0 #7 May 8, 2007 How's about we start by not paying CEOs and Aircrew the ludicrous salaries they get for flying a desk or an aircraft that virtually flies itself?Illinois needs a CCW Law. NOW.

I saw one news bit recently that said that pilots (don't recall the airline, sorry) were asking for a 30% (IIRC) raise to get them 'up to par' with current cost of living after taking a pay cut a couple years ago. They're also asking for another (IIRC) 30% over that, over the next 3 years for cost of living... They're currently getting over 100k...Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. Any idea how much investment a pilot makes both in time and money to get to the point of flying the big birds? Those are the civilian trained pilots. The ones who come from the military make a serious long term commitment to Uncle Sam in exchange for their training.

Even worse, have you seen what ATC salaries recently? And unlike pilots, these are guys who are home every night. I had no idea the money those guys make until I read an article about the job in a flying magazine a year ago."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. My point is that the salaries senior pilots make are not unreasonable considering the commitment of time and money it takes to reach that point in their career and the huge responsibilty of hundreds of lives in their hands. Yup..and x lives in their hands with every decision they make, similar to the pilots (except, of course, ATC won't be the first one to arrive at the crash site like the pilot will). There's a reason why there's so much burnout and turnover in ATC. My godfather was a controller for (if I recall correctly) 5 years before he burnt out... he ended up going to the Forestry service as a fire warden...Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. I would ask that you go to the passengers that were on one of our 777'S about 6 weeks ago that blew the engine on takeoff if that senior pilot was worth the salary he makes. With all of the cutbacks a lot of us in the airline business have seen with pensions and stuff like that I think most deserve what they get at the moment. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
