steveorino 7 #2 April 25, 2007 From the article: "Despite controversy — or maybe because of it — O'Donnell was good business for ABC, owned by the Walt Disney Co. Ratings for "The View" during February sweeps were up 15 percent in key women demographics over the same time in 2006." Just goes to show increasing your attractiveness to sub-culture groups is not always good for "business" in the long run. Now if the GOP could remember that. steveOrino

Shotgun 1 #8 April 25, 2007 Quote O'Donnell said on the show Wednesday that she wanted to stay for one more year, and ABC wanted three. So she decided to leave, although she said she will appear occasionally next season for things like a planned one-hour special on autism. That doesn't sound like getting fired. Doesn't sound very believable, either.
Shotgun 1 #10 April 25, 2007 Quote Doesn't sound very believable, either. Oh well... Makes no difference to me either way. Until yesterday, I didn't even know that Rosie was on that show. But thanks to dropzone.com, I am able to keep up with at least a little bit of celebrity gossip. (All the threads complaining about such and such celeb, thereby giving said celeb more visibility.) Did you miss the part that said "O'Donnell was good business for ABC"? Did you miss the part where I said "in the long run"?She increased the demographics of a small sub-culture and that was good for business, but in the long run she would be detrimental. If she was good for all business all the time they would have never let her go. Let me illustrate it this way. Many actions of the GOP has increased the support from the radical far right, and while that is good in itself, it will most likely prove to not be good "in the long run", Capice? Quote I'm confused.
