Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD).
when scientists examined individual bees in affected colonies, they showed weakened immune systems and an increase in bacteria and foreign fungi.

This is some serious shit. If those little girls (worker bees are all female, the males just sit on their asses until the Queen Bee kicks them out of the hive) don't get the pollenating done, the food chain could pretty well collapse. These are FARMERS who are worried, their CROPS are in danger (you know, the stuff we eat ?).

It's just a liberal conspiracy. We can always eat petroleum.

And don't forget, Soylent Gold is FISH!

Both the disappearing bees and exploding deer population are BIG trouble. We have always had a couple bee hives here on our farm. We don't really take care of them like real bee keepers do they are just here to help polinate stuff. I noticed the other day that there wasn't anything going on around the hive and sure enough they are all dead:(

If we would only use energy saving light bulbs, we could save the bees.

You do know that global warming and the exact output of CO2 from your car is responsible for this, don't you? If not, do a search in google for bees and global warming. ;)

A bigger problem is the Exploding Deer

MOUNTAIN VIEWS: EXPLODING DEER POPULATION PRESENTS PROBLEMS FOR OFFICIALS AND MOTORISTS

Can you imagine? As a motorist, you are not safe from these beasts. Are they part of a terrorist plot?

I just love your ridiculous mischaracterizations.

Do you feel better when you scattershot demonize environmentalists? Do you also think environmentalists hate your sports team? Do you blame them when you get a flat tire? When you get a sales call during dinner? When the milk goes bad?

And excuse me. I'd engage you futher but dinner's ready. Guess what we're having tonight?

I for one am not in denial about global warming being a very real thing. I also prefer (properly dressed and processed) venison to beef. I know I am not the only one.

?? I think global warming is indeed a big problem, but have no problem with you doing to Bambi whatever it is you like (provided we don't drive em to extinction, of course.) Who were you referring to?

Actually, the pinkos at NPR are reporting that a number of recent generation pesticides are to blame. And pink or not, NPR is usually right, so there.

A bigger problem is the Exploding Deer

unsure if exploding deer is a bigger problem than bees disappearing??
:S

Bees are honey producers as well as indispensable actors in the pollinisation of flowers and plants. Bees are an element in the interactive ecosystem chain. The bee’s role is very important in the various life cycles of different species. Without bees, there would be no honey, but more importantly, certain plants would not be able to reproduce and would thus become extinct. In turn, this would lead to the disappearance of certain animal species...

Deer are prolific reproducers,
unlike deer populations wolf populations have been decimated by human activity. So are deer part of a terrorist plot or is human activity???
:S

The Queen Charlotte Islands B.C. Canada..are one of the richest biological and cultural areas in North America. This remote archipelago provides unparalleled wilderness. Theories suggest that parts of the Islands escaped the last ice age, forming a glacial refuge for certain forms of plant and animal life. At least 39 plant and animal species have been identified that are specific to this region and found nowhere else in the world. This explains presence of plant species, and noticeably different sub-species of bird, fish and mammal.

The Queen Charlotte Islands provide a remarkable evolutionary showcase - thus, their description as the “Canadian Galapagos”. The black bear is the largest black bear in the world. Through isolation from their mainland cousins these black bears have developed a larger lower jaw because of frequent foraging and feeding along the shoreline.

Black-tailed deer and raccoons are introduced species to the islands, ecologically they are both causing problems. Without natural predators, their populations are expanding to the detriment of other species. Bird colonies are seriously at risk to raccoons. The cedar tree is disappearing from the over browsing of the deer- so hunt the deer??

Or just let all the cedars die. The deer will then die back, and other more opportunistic trees will take over. Then the deer will come back, and all the new trees will die off again. You see such an oscillation in most small habitats. There's a very famous such oscillation between moose and wolves on Isle Royale in Lake Superior.

So, what are YOU doing to protect the bumble-girls? Point, and lesson, is that the WASTEFUL American Way is unsustainable! That includes skydiving! Maybe we all need to take up BASE instead, making a PHYSICAL effort to get our asses to altitude.

Nature has a very effective way of fighting back all the abuses.
