Or others who will bring up Hillary Clinton's lack of electability simply due to her personality.
Or that Giuliani will struggle due some personal issues.
Or that John Edwards will not be electable due memories of his last candidacy, or that he cannot win a primary, or even those who will suggest that his wife's cancer will impeded his ability to do his job in office.
Or that Obama won't be able to win because his campaign warchest will be substantially depleted in the primary run against Hillary.
Or that Joe Biden killed his chances at winning when he said that except for Obama, "mainstream blacks are dirty, inarticulate and ugly." (Note, these are not Biden's own words, not even Biden uses his own words).

QuoteJust curious. Do you get as upset when the NAACP speaks about their favorite candidates as you do when Focus on the Family does?
I see them as being two different cases.
I'll admit there seems to be a wierd anomaly when it comes to Obama, but in the vast majority of cases, the NAACP doesn't usually distingish between a person that is black and another that might not be "black enough".
Dobson, on the other hand, has done something that I think is pretty nefarious. He's created an organization that on the surface is about "families", but scratch the surface and you find out what he means is "Christian" families, which would normally include a fairly significant portion of the population, but what he REALLY means is "Evangelical Christians." He's more than glad to take all three sets of money, but only those "Evangelical Christians" are the ones good enough to be in charge.
For a "Christian" his views are anything but.

Or some might see his views as typical - after all Christianity is a pretty restricted club. Either believe what they believe or go to Hell. Rather nasty way to think about people that don't chose to believe the same thing.

In your reply it appears you are lumping all Christians together. That is as disingenious as them creating their brand of Christianity that is acceptable.

I agree with your characterization of Dobbs's organization. However, I disagree because I firmly believe that organizations such as the NAACP are firmly entrenched in advocating "liberal" agenda.
The NAACP regularly attacks blacks who do not promote the liberal agenda. Think about folks like Ward Connerly, Condoleeza Rice, Clarence Thomas, Janice Rogers Brown, Colin Powell, etc. Julian Bond speaks of Rice and Powell as mere human shields: "You know the Bush Administration likes to use Secretary of State Colin Powell and National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice as human shields against any criticism of its record on civil rights," thus demeaning their accomplishments because they are of wrng political ilk.
Remember Julian Bond's speech a year ago, "equating the Republican Party with the Nazi Party and characterizing Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her predecessor, Colin Powell, as 'tokens.'" - from this post - http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2058680
He calls Thomas "affirmative action's poster child" and demeans his thinking. The NAACP (and the Urban League) opposed Clarence Thomas's appointment because of his stated viewpoints on affirmative action.
Take a look at what the National Bar Association (the nation's largest association of black attorneys) has done. Like in 1998, many of them voting to withdraw the invitation to Clarence THomas to speak to them. Said member A. Leon Higginbotham Jr., a retired US Court of Appeals Judge who is now a professor at Harvard's JFK School of government, wrote to Bernette Johnson (head of the NBA's judicial counsel) "By the very nature of your invitation, you give [Thomas] an imprimatur that he has never had from any responsible organization within the African American community or any non-conservative groups of whites in America."
These are groups who do not seek to elevate and assist all persons to rise to high levels. Rather, they seek to only elevate those who will advance their agenda and tear down those who would think or do differently.
Clarence Thomas himself said in his speech to the NBA, that he will not give in to pressure to "follow the prescription assigned to blacks." Furthermore, that those who expect him to think a certain way because he is black deny his "humanity" and want him to be "an intellectual slave."
These groups, despite what they say, only support what they deem to be the proper intellectual thought. Like it or not, they are partisan to the core.

QuoteSo . . . better fall in line and attend the same church or you can't get elected.
Has that feel doesnt it. I dont listen to this dick anyway. Why would I need someone to tell me who to vote for. I hope Thompson jumps into the race. Better than any of the asshats that are in the running so far.

Dobson is clever enough to keep his sctick centered around parenting issues, where he actually has given some good advice over the years - or at least a lot of people think so. But then with the supportive parenting talk and the immense popularity it's won him, he mixes in all his other pet political views.
There is NOTHING the guy won't stoop to. Anyone remember his death row interview with Ted Bundy ? Bundy was mere hours from frying in the chair and more than willing to say anything that might just gain him another delay, so he parroted everything Dobson fed him about how pornography had sent him down the road to be a serial killer. It seems like a lot of people on these Forums are into porn to one degree or another, but so far nobody's turned out to be a serial killer.
He's just another self aggrandizing shit, unfortunately with a lot of money and influence.
Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !
Nice guy. And Dobson should rename Focus on the Family to Focus on THE family.
