akarunway 1 #2 March 28, 2007 QuoteIt's been reported that off duty police men were among the gun men arrested for running amuck in Talafar...... clickyNot meaning to hijack the thread but add this>(http://en.rian.ru/russia/20070327/62697703.html) into the mix and the middle east is a fuckin nitemare. "The latest military intelligence data point to heightened U.S. military preparations for both an air and ground operation against Iran," the official said, adding that the Pentagon has probably not yet made a final decision as to when an attack will be launched. He said the Pentagon is looking for a way to deliver a strike against Iran "that would enable the Americans to bring the country to its knees at minimal cost."I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. Darius11 12 #3 March 28, 2007 Yea I wonder why anyone in the Middle East would think that the US and the lunatic in charge are on some kind of crusade.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
jimmytavino 16 #4 March 28, 2007 QuoteYea I wonder why anyone in the Middle East would think that the US and the lunatic in charge are on some kind of crusade. hmmmm according to GW, it's all about Nuke-U-lar..... and then when i read 'bring 'em to their knees" I really get nervous.... How is it that We ( and those we allow )can have that sort of power?.... but those we Don't allow, can not??? I don't see the sense of swatting at a hornets nest, in the First place,,, let alone, to do it when we are not able , to then " run away " from the resulting swarm... Worse YET for a President !!!. to ask volunteer military persons to do just that... hmmm So, Now It's " I RAN "...... interesting play on words... Don't know much about them, don't really WANT to.....may they live their lives, and may we live ours.... If our defense dept. braintrust is planning "hit and run".....that's not good either... makes lots of enemies...people get mad at you,,,,,,resentment lingers, payback is a bitch.. God help us all. jmy
billvon 3,120 #5 March 28, 2007 > It's been reported that off duty police men were among the gun men > arrested for running amuck in Talafar...... There's only one possible effective solution - clap louder. Those policemen need our support!
shropshire 0 #6 March 28, 2007 Yeap... it's clear for most (who want to see it) that things really are worse than they were before we liberated them.. Yes Schools, water plants, etc... have been rebuilt, but only needed to be because we knocked them down in the first place... I dispare and have no clue how to repair the real damage but it seems that neither do our leaders. (.)Y(.) Darius11 12 #7 March 28, 2007 What is sad for me is this. Iran is the most liberal country in the Middle East. No one can argue that. Iranians are not Arabs, they are not known for terrorism other then on US TV shows, but if the US attacks and puts them in the corner then they will have no choice but to fight with any means necessary to protect there home land. I wonder what we will call them then? Insurgents? Terrorist maybe? I can just hear the dumb rednecks now. “Well Iran attacked us on 9-11”. God save us from the stupid people who don’t have a clue about anything.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

A good start would be to eliminate the VERY illogical and arbitrary borders your lot imposed on them back at the beginning of the 20th Century They will do it eventually anyway... but sectarian violence was only slightly under under control ( by Saddams killing off anyone he felt like) during the Baathist Regime..otherwise they have been having a go at each other since the 7th Century....get the hell out and let them settle it for themselves... because neither the Brits... or the US stands a chance of dragging them kicking and screaming into the 21st century as long as they want to live and die by their 7th century blood feuds. SkyDekker 1,465 #9 March 28, 2007 Invade Iran, public outcry in the US, declare Martial Law to maintain rule in the US. Suspend any upcoming elections and until all wars are complete to ensure that the effort is not undermined. Now let me go put my tinfoil hat back on..... shropshire 0 #10 March 28, 2007 <> not my fault.... honest. Removing the borders may be a good 1st step... but who actually has the right to do that? and who would police it? The UN perhaps.... but why should anyone let the Coalition simply walk away from a problem that they created (except of course, they are the major players in the UN too). (.)Y(.) billvon 3,120 #11 March 28, 2007 >A good start would be to eliminate the VERY illogical and arbitrary borders >your lot imposed on them back at the beginning of the 20th Century . .. Agreed. See below for one such suggestion. >Removing the borders may be a good 1st step... but who actually has the right to do that? Well - they do. It's their country. We have to just not get involved enforcing those old illogical borders.
