Duckwater 0 #1 March 10, 2007 If you missed the last episode, it was by far the best one yet. I actually learned something from it. The way they took on the "N" word issue is worthy of an Emmy. When you have a TV show where the N word is used over 40 times and the people who are behind abolishthenword.com think it was appropriate, you have accomplished something. We will never abolish or criminalize the word, and the meaning word is across the spectrum, from a greeting to a friend to a racist rant. But, if the word is used in contects not intended to be hurtful, where do you draw the line? The entertainment industry must take the lead in abolishing the use of the word. I believe that Michael Richards is not a racist, he was just pissed at some hecklers and said the most hateful word he could think of. Had he called a woman heckler a CU#@, we would have never heard of it. He had heard the N word 100 times on MTV. If you cuss in front of your kids, guess what... There is no word you can call me that will piss me off. I dont get why the N word is so hurtful.....I dont get it. Im not supposed to get it. Thanks Kyle. jarrodh 0 #2 March 10, 2007 You are correct. It was genius. Thier ability to address a topic and completely show the absurdity of it is unparalleled. I love South Park. It however wasnt their best comedic episode, even though that midget was hilarious. The funniest one is the Lord of the Rings episode2 BITS....4 BITS....6 BITS....A DOLLAR!....ALL FOR THE GATORS....STAND UP AND HOLLER!!!!
misaltas 0 #3 March 10, 2007 Quotethe people who are behind abolishthenword.com think it was appropriate A group which is trying to discontinue use of that word in any context admits that context is important. It's like rayyyaiiin, on your wedding dayyyy.... (Flame not please. I know damn well the word in most contexts is destructive and offensive.) Yes, great episode. I'm sort of new to SP, but it seems most contain very clever social commentary.Ohne Liebe sind wir nichts
TrophyHusband 0 #4 March 10, 2007 i would encourage you to buy and watch the past seasons of south park. not every episode has a social commentary, but the ones that do do a very good job of showing both sides to be the jack-asses they are.
